The state Department of Public Health released updated numbers Friday afternoon, indicating 823 new cases throughout the state since Thursday.
There are now 3,240 Massachusetts residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus and 35 deaths attributed to the disease.

Just be sure to understand that fitting data like you have plotted there is only good for interpolation, not extrapolation. So this doesn’t infer anything about where we will be next week.
Extrapolation is the mistake made by so called climate change experts that show the hockey stick, exponential growth based on an interpolation fit. The higher order the fit, yours are second order, the more rapid the extrapolation will run away.

Hong Kong is to roll out new social distancing measures this weekend after it announced 65 new infections on Friday – the highest number of new cases yet.
Public gatherings of four or more people – both indoors and outdoors – will be banned from Sunday at midnight, with offenders risking at HK$25,000 fine and six months in prison.
Exemptions will include those gathering in private, people involved in government, courts, district council or legislative work. It will also not apply to people taking public transport or to those gathered at workplaces.
Consider yourself blessed. If you can read or listen to the president it isn’t like that elsewhere.

Virtually all testing is still exclusively people who are symptomatic and meet specific requirements (save for the rich and connected). Large scale testing of the population at large would produce only a small number of additional positives, mostly those who are pre-symptomatic. Ignoring the problem by not testing does not result in fewer infections, will not clear out hospital rooms and ICU wards, and will not reduce fatalities.
Is the MSM hyping this event? Yes, that's what they do. Do bigger numbers make bigger headlines? Yes, but it is Public Health Departments and hospitals driving testing, not the MSM. Are the left blaming Trump? Obviously. But painting posters here as "bots" who are part of some organized plot to get Trump is bizarre and paranoid. And calling for them to be banished worse.
