Conspiracy theories claiming COVID-19 was engineered in a lab as part of a biological attack on the United States have been gaining traction online in recent weeks, but a new study on the origins of the virus has concluded that the pandemic-causing strain developed naturally.
An analysis of the evidence, according to the findings first published in the scientific journal Nature Medicine, shows that the novel coronavirus "is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus," with the researchers concluding "we do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is plausible."
"There’s a lot of speculation and conspiracy theories that went to a pretty high level," Dr. Robert Garry, a professor at the Tulane University School of Medicine and one of the authors of the study, told ABC News, "so we felt it was important to get a team together to examine evidence of this new coronavirus to determine what we could about the origin."

Without exception, the answer was YES.
The next question: did this "escape" the lab on its own on "accident" (ie: someone took animals infected with the virus to the "wet market" after they'd served their useful lab purpose) or was it weaponized?
Answer: could've been either.
You draw your own conclusions, either way China is responsible for this. Of that there's zero doubt.
BTW there are also plenty of articles still available on the net from major publications documenting China opening it's first Biolevel-4 lab in Wuhan, China.
Just google that, they'll all come up (I just checked myself.)

Epidemiologically-speaking the “wet market” origin is scientifically-false.
Of the original group of 41 patients - a number which persisted in reports out of Wuhan through at least Jan. 11 - over half were found to have no connections whatsoever to the market and, in fact, a 55 year-old male “first case” was identified as having been infected November 17th among a group of 9 patients who were exposed/symptomatic in November.
They have still not yet identified “patient zero” and the market becomes less a factor as more study is performed.
Conversely, the lab becomes more likely, especially with consideration of key signatures within the virus’ DNA that cannot be explained naturally, aspects of which I will not delve into here.

Being that this is coming from ABC, I am even more inclined to believe that Covid-19 damn well IS a weaponized virus.

Even if it wasn’t created from scratch, that does not mean it did not escape from a lab... Bio labs all over the world, including in the USA have samples of anthrax, ebola, and much more. These cultures are cultivated and kept alive in the lab. Maybe China found COVID-19 in a dead bat and decided to study it...
The same studies that Americans are causing GLOBAL WARMING? Those people who are doing studies? Not believing them...
