Vanity: Trump just said the shut down will last til 4/12! That SUCKS

I cannot believe our government is considering keeping everything shut down beyond next Monday! That is ridiculous. This is NOT a good decision in my very humble opinion. We've already seen huge damage done for companies by this period we're already in!!

Sorry, you’re getting called out for your FAKE NEWS.

He did NOT say “said the shut down will last til 4/12!”

He said is CONSIDERING.

Please, just calm down.

Economies come back very slowly, and sometimes not at all. You should isolate, as should other high risk. Everyone else needs to get back to work/life to get herd immunity ASAP. If we don’t, it’s not just jobs at risk, but pensions, SS, Medicare, and the healthcare system as a hole. The gov cannot print or borrow our way to prosperity.

Ask your governor, and your mayor. What Trump says is for federal facilities.

Someone on the coronavirus thread said they’re going to vote for Biden because of this but wishes Cuomo was running because he listened to him and now thinks he’s a great leader. LOL

I replied, great leader or great speaker?

When economies decline people die.

That doesn’t mean the farm belt cant keep working to feed America and the essential businesses cant keep operating

A phased plan to reopen is supportable esp if the drug trial in NY curtails the epidemic and state Governors are making prudent decisions based on their locales. But I think we need at least another week or 2 to determine this

Btw dont use finger pointing CAPS to tell me what to do

Not a bad idea. Safe from infection standpoint, more importantly, timed to coordinate with roll out of government programs now in works

My company is having the vast majority of employees work from home until May 1st.

They gave me a laptop loaner to take home and I’m doing just fine—in spite of my four cats chewing on my engineering log book and walking on the keyboard LOL.

Die. Better people starve to death than get the dreaded Chinese Flu.

In the meantime people will suffer true harm from an economic depression. I can’t understand how people here don’t see that. Many more will die from that than this virus.

Empirically, a poor economy leads to higher rates of drug/alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, physical abuse, charities unable to help the poor and elderly, suicides, violent crime (rape/murder), nutritional deficits, lower quality of healthcare, etc.

Is it really that hard for people on FR to understand that economic conditions directly relate to health conditions?

Ok, that is NOT what he said.

He said we should be back to normal by Easter.

He did not say we are going to be shut down until then.

Yes, but they do it a little here and a little there, so it all looks nice and clean. Kind of like minimum wage, where jobs disappear, but nobody really sees it happening.

I suspect he’s going to let it start up slowly first day he can....he sounded like he wants thing back to normal by Easter.

I have been praying for churches to be free and comfortable to be full on Easter Sunday. If the drug combination now being tried big time in NYCity works, it could happen.
