Vanity: Trump just said the shut down will last til 4/12! That SUCKS

I cannot believe our government is considering keeping everything shut down beyond next Monday! That is ridiculous. This is NOT a good decision in my very humble opinion. We've already seen huge damage done for companies by this period we're already in!!

and you don’t think those recommendations brought everything to a screeching halt? What about social distancing and the convention business? I’m in Orlando; this is crippling industry here.

What do you say about the 50,000 that died from the flu last year, do we shut the entire country down every time we have a new virus coming into the country!!

That's a question I'll be asking...often...when this is over. "What are your plans for next flu season?"

I got so exasperated with the fools of the press last night I started shouting at them. Irrational I know.

They are child like.

I did not say that pal. I am simply saying that regardless of what the president does now, large elements of the shut down will continue for some time.

I interpreted that whenever it opens back up, it will be done in stages, with full opening by Easter

I think you got it exactly right.

None of those have ever recovered. They are “infinitely” disabled, according to their GNP curves.

Give us a territory before the 19th century that “never” recovered.

I’m not disagreeing. I’m simply stating that ‘guidance’, ‘recommendations’, etc., by the feds, had a HUGE influence on the daily businesses completely stopping work. Trump needs to come out Monday and green light everything. The blue states will be hard pressed to keep their ridiculous rules in place after that.

Economies come back People don’t

How many businesses will not survive this? How many families will fight to put food on the table? $1200 from the government in 3 weeks won't buy groceries now. There were 10,000 suicides attributed to the great recession. How many Americans dead to date from this? Only 650 or so. If we care about deaths, take them all into account and then proceed accordingly.

I think 4/12 is probably as soon as even Trump can manage, politically.

that’s probably true. I feel like he was steam rolled into this in the first place. As pointed out a million times already, we have NEVER shut down the govt, especially for a garden variety virus. Nothing for Sars, Mers, ebola, zika, h1n1, swine flu...and on and on.

No, he DID NOT say that. He said that he would like for it to be over by Easter. He DID NOT set a deadline.

I wish people who hate President Trump would stop lying for a change!

Trump isn’t going to jump the gun if it isn’t safe to do so.
People need to calm down. We’ve got this.

People can’t come back if we have Venezuela health care because we are all broke and no one is paying in.

High risk shelter in place. Let the rest of us work. Otherwise we can’t take care of you.

You are being suckered into believing you need to risk death or be confined to save the nation. That is CRAP. Kinda like the arguments that euthanasia is for the best of society.

Nope. Ya can let china flu kill more people but dont patronize them by making it sound noble.
