I have a relative coming in from another state to stay with me. I am at risk and have been isolated. How do I introduce him into the home, 2 week quarantine? In Garage? Cannot find a camper. Ideas??

I have no real way to have him come into the house and quarantine from me. There are no options. Live in northern new England.

I have a two car garage attached to the house, but it is cold and drafty.

I thought of borrowing a big tent and putting it in the garage to give it some space, and room.

cannot find a camper to borrow or rent.

cannot afford to purchase one

Ideas would be appreciated.

Is this a brief visit or is it a stay stay, like a long period of time?

Awaiting your additional details.

Right now, I’m thinking....who would do this (imposition) to a loved one.

Maybe there’s a LOT more, to the story.

Take care!!

Do not let relatives in unless they bring toilet paper.

Say this:

“We planned this before the Wuhan Virus Pandemic. I’ve got to cancel, since I am high risk. We will plan another time.”

Sounds like a really great excuse to keep my sister-in-law from visiting. Of course we live in Eastern King County, WA where this this virus has been passing around the community since sometime in December. Our friends do not wonder if they are going to get it... they wonder if what they had earlier this year that didn't even keep them home was the virus and in many cases it probably was. We will never know if they were infected because there are not enough tests to go around here for all the celebrities and politicians who want them. Even if there was and they do not tell if you had it, only if you currently have it.

You need to tell your relative that you afraid of getting this flu type virus because you are convinced that it could kill you and you are self isolating. There is no way that they haven't seen all the hype. They still might make fun of you for the next few years or until something else kills you. Even then it will provide a topic of discussion at your funeral.

Why are you letting them come to your house?

Unless his options are 1) Under a bridge, 2) Homeless shelter or 3) You, the answer should be NO. If those are the options, a tent in the garage and an electric space heater. (The local walmart had inflatable queen sized matresses for $12 the other day. Small tents aren’t expensive, and you don’t really need weatherproof in the garage. Camp stove and grill to use in the driveway for a couple of weeks.

Does know he can't stay in the house? You might want to tell him before he shows up.

Tell him to stay home until you are cleared........Nobody really wants relatives staying with them anyway. This is your chance

Shoot the infected walker and stop allowing diseased people to use you.

Tell him you have corona virus. Hopefully he will think otherwise about visiting. This is also a good remedy for a visiting mother-in-law.

Would putting a couple of space heaters in the garage be feasible? Granted, flammable liquids would need to be isolated from the garage or at least from the heaters.

Stock up on toilet paper. Apparently, it will keep the virus at bay. 😁
