COVID-19 can be especially dangerous to people who have a compromised immune system.
People with diabetes can fall into that category.
They don't have any special risk of actually getting the virus, explained Dr. Philip Jameson who is with the American Diabetes Association. They have the same risk that everybody else does. But that because of diabetes, they have a higher risk of complications. Complications could mean, that besides having the lung infection, they could have effects on other organs, and that's just something that has been seen. Part of it is because people with diabetes often have related heart disease or kidney disease and for those with type one diabetes that may even have other autoimmune disorders, which means their immune system is compromised.
Dr. Jameson said diabetics should know when it's time to call a doctor.
People with diabetes told to be prepared as COVID-19 spreads They have to monitor their blood sugar a lot more closely, explained Dr. Jameson. Those who have type 1 diabetes particularly could have changes in their blood sugar, and they should be on the lookout for something they know about which is diabetic keto acidosis or DKA. For anyone who takes insulin, the need for insulin may go up as part of inflammation, so that's another reason to be monitoring."
Dr. Jameson said it's also important for people with diabetes to stay hydrated.
There have been a few people with COVID who presented with a lot of diarrhea or vomiting and that can lead to dehydrate and complicate any illness, said Dr. Jameson. And I would recommend if those things happen, they get in touch with their provider right away.
What about HYPOglycemia?
Eat a doughnut.
How about premature baldness? Any stats yet?
I’d rather be bald than dead.
if they adhere to a water-only fast until they are of their desired weight, their Type II diabetes would be gone.
Read his books and watch Dr. Jason Fong videos on youtube, I know one person personally who no longer has Type II diabetes after losing only 40lbs on this diet by water fasting, and then short-term water fasting for maintenance.

Can’t.
The immediate effect is major heart palpitations, the end game is plummeting again.
I live on protein.
:\
Dr. Jason Fung
Oh, bummer.
Yeah, really.
I love glazed doughnuts.
:D
In the past year I lost 80 pounds and am off all my diabetic medications (metformin and glipside). Morning blood sugar readings 85-95.
Diabetes causes higher blood sugars which is favorable for the cova19 for growth.
Are people with ED (erection dysfunction) at higher risk?
Because ED is a by product of weak heart function and clogged arteries.
Great job, keep up the good work!
That is not good. I have a lot of friends with diabetes.
My son has diabetes and asthma and MUST report to work tomorrow. No, he is not a medical professional or a first responder. He works in the mail room at a large insurance company. The only people that are going to be there are the janitorial staff and a couple of people in the mail room. Everyone else is working from home. I hope and pray that he does not contract the virus while traveling to and from work.
I hope he can stay safe. Maybe he should talk to HR. Given his conditions, maybe they can decide he shouldn’t come in.
It’s Fung not Fong.
And yes it’s excellent advice.
His methods work, but it’s not easy if you’ve had a lifetime of carb love.
...”Maybe he should talk to HR. Given his conditions, maybe they can decide he shouldnt come in.”
He is afraid they may fire him for speaking up. Not everyone is secure in their work places. It is scary.
