This is getting really bad

It was a great article.. one of the gems. Deserves to be on the front page of FR.
Italy has the largest amount of Chinese in Europe working in factories the commies took over. Your question on nationality is key here because they have not been doing so in fact that socialist government has been avoiding doing so
Ditto. Makes me wonder if maybe those wild crematorium rumors actully had some truth to them.
“627 dead just today?”
Yes.
427 dead yesterday.
Not a good trend.
Well, on the brighter side the rate of increase in Italy is slowing down. Their percentage of new cases per day used to typically be in the 20s or higher for weeks, but has been in the teens the past several days. The absolute number keep growing of course, but at least each infected person isnt giving it to as many new people as before. Hopefully, they can get into the single digits soon. It is extraordinary how much higher their death rate is than anywhere else in the world is or has been.
Pray for FRANKLIN GRAHAM and SAMARITON’S PURSE who are in Italy caring for the sick.
Well, thankfully, it can’t happen here!
How do they figure that since NYC has jumped to 7,000 today?
China locked down whole cities for over a month and confined people to their homes at gunpoint. In Italy by contrast there is anecdotal evidence that the lockdown only has a compliance rate of 60%.
reminder
the most deaths China ever officially reported in one day was 150
Italy has the second oldest population of any country. And the average age of death is 81. So, they are a special case. Two Chinese tourists gave them the virus in early February. The Chinese rich in Wuhan escaped China before the crackdown. They were given warning. So they left China quickly and spread the disease to the far corners of the world. Now Greenland, the Maldives, Fiji and Tasmania all have the virus.
Johns Hopkins has total cases 41,035 confirmed cases in Italy with 4,032 deaths.
That’s 9.9%

Poor Italy (land of my ancestors). Has any other EU country offered help, yet? Or are they all just standing back and watching?
Should say the rate of growth is way down.
Not the actual number of cases / deaths.
Pray it holds.
In New Jersey they had six COVID-9 infections from one large Italian-American family. Three of them were fatalities, including the grandmother in her 80s and two adult children in their 50s.
This is expected.
It’s exponential. It is within 3-5 days here in USA and the numbers will go up, rather sharp.
Think x10
When we come back in, we run and wash our hands with soap the way surgeons do, then disinfect keys, coins, handles, groceries. We wash our hands right after we blow our nose or sneeze, we disinfect surfaces and taps I have not gone out for a week and will not do it now, because with the new restrictions only one person in the family can go out for necessary goods (which include newspapers - my mom has been reading the paper everyday since she was a little girl). When my sister goes out she wears a mask. We hear see read about the virus all day long, fake news and real facts. The WHO website and that of Italys Ministry of Health are a good source of information. A good place to get correct information is also https://www.medicalfacts.it/, a website by Roberto Burioni, an infectious disease specialist. It is in Italian but the written pages can be translated. There is a lot of wrong information around. The main thing is to avoid contact, but some people dont seem to have understood that very well. Some do not gather information, some do not understand and some do not want to understand. The worst part of this is that by their irresponsible and criminal behavior they do not only endanger themselves, but other people, too. Social life is forbidden in Italy. Only one person can go in a small shop at one time. The 1mt distance one person from the other must be observed in supermarkets and on the street. You can walk your dog but not too far from your home. People are allowed but highly discouraged to go for a walk or out running, and one must do that alone. The streets are deserted, some trains go by because some people continue to work but most of them are empty. There is absolute silence.....This virus is nasty, and if you do catch it with symptoms it can be very unpleasant if not lethal. It gives a deep kind of pneumonia. The majority of the deceased people had ongoing pathologies, but there have been exceptions to that. It seems to attack men more than women, 60/40% in China and 70/30% in Italy. Not much is known about the virus. They dont even know if you are immune after having caught it and recovered. We cant afford to catch the virus but we cannot do any more than what we are doing now. They dont know why it got so big in Italy. I hope it never spreads this bad in other countries, but if strict measures are taken too late, then it might. So you all be careful, dont underestimate the problem just because it is not dramatic yet in the US, please!
Most EU countries are knee-deep in it themselves.
There's simply no way given their population density that they had zero new cases. Impossible.
