I know. That was my “Short Bus” comment. They’ll be the first to lick the fomites off the windows.
Newsom was assuming that no restrictions were in place—his briefing paper was obviously beyond his comprehension. :-)
“Phase I is 5% per English model”
Only under full lock down can they achieve 5%.
Full, enforced, Shelter in Place...like NorCal is now.
Everything to the south, LA SD etc. is still in never never land.
My presumption is that SoCal will be shut down in a few days at most...
The prohibition of large gatherings in SoCal already slowed the spread down significantly below maximum.
US State Department Issues a Global Level 4 - Do Not Travel (anywhere)
Oh, gee, that's too bad. I really wanted something stuck five inches into my nose. /s
Orange County, CA has already issued a shelter in place requirement.
Many members of my extended family live there.
CDC case counts US - 10,500+ cases, 187 fatalities as of March 19, 2020

They would have to get an order to restrain me and forcibly administer it, and then later if recovered I would assassinate whoever signed the order.
I heard that too. That overweight (less than obesity) is considered a health condition. So basically 70% of Americans.
I know that all of the grocery stores have been advertising that they are hiring lots of people. I know they are getting slammed with business right now, but I wonder if they were told by the Feds that businesses like theirs, that are critical and will remain open, are going to begin seeing a high incidence of sick employees, and employees who quit out of fear, so they should plan on a revolving door situation with employees.
It will be the same for warehouse employees. Both industries, too, should probably intend to continually raise pay as the situation worsens to keep people coming in the door.
Like a one bedroom garage apartment type thing....so you can take more time on your move, without stress of hotel giving you the boot.
But, I certainly understand how a hotel is probably much easier.
Just saw that Nat’l Guard getting ready to deploy all across the country.
So just like the subsidies with Obamacare....a whole lot of people that need the money are about to get screwed
BREAKING NEWS: Mitch McConnell unveils $1,200 checks for every American earning under $75,000-a-year as part of Republicans’ $1 trillion coronavirus bailout plan

btw, how are they going to figure this for the self employed who havent filed 2019 yet?
The details on who they pay and how they figure it out should be _very_ interesting.
If a couple makes less than $150 the couple qualifies, or if one person makes over $75K and the other below, then half the check?
Then, how do they determine that number?
Is it just current workers or also retired people?
If current workers what is the relevant period?
etc etc etc
