But for Sanders to drop out now would be a mistake, not only for the progressive forces he represents, but for the Democratic Party and the country.

However, ending the presidential primary will not solve this problem; many states have ballot measures, referenda, and other local contests occurring simultaneously with the presidential primary.
Unless officials are planning to suspend all democratic processes between now and the resolution of the coronavirus pandemic (a terrifying and probably unconstitutional precedent in many states), Sanders's presence in the primary is not the deciding factor as to whether Americans will need to vote during the outbreak. This is a structural problem that must be solved regardless of the Sanders campaign's decisions.

I worked with a guy who around age 61, was showing signs of dementia. Week to week, there might be two or three things he’d say (like Joe) and you would question how long before he was non-functional. Luckily for us, he was in the last year of work, and intended to be retired in 12 months. He kept his word and we gave him a big dinner as he exited into retirement.
Occasionally, he’d talk about his wife, who was OCD and a collector of magazines (probably having 40 piles around the living room of various publications which she read entirely and would quote things from her readings). None of the piles could ever be thrown out or moved.
I kinda wonder about the two of them today, and how retirement turned out.

The Bern should stay in the race , prevent Joe from achieving the delegates needed to be the nominee, go to the convention and trade his delegates with Joe for a place on the ticket as VP, instead of the Democrat cow that Biden has in mind to replace his senile ass.
That way its a Biden-Bern ticket.

In a two candidate race, one candidate or the other will have enough delegates to win at the convention. Even if one didn’t, they could get them easily from one of the candidates who pulled out. Bernie can’t keep Biden from getting the nomination, and Biden isn’t going to pick somebody as old and White and male as he is.
You are likely correct on the math.
But my point is that Joe Biden as a candidate is simply a DNC Cow-establishment Trojan horse candidate. Call Biden the DNC Progesterone PMS candidate.
The Bern will stay in to influence that process, particularly in relation to the still operative Hillary camp.The Bern will try and make the DNC femino-nazi cows pay big time.
