Day #19 here:

Congress—here we go—first positive case...
The U.S. Congressman who tested positive for coronavirus participated in House votes on Friday 3/13, one day before he developed symptoms

For those who don’t remember, I am predicting 22 positives in Congress (House of Representatives) in the next month—so lets say by April 18.
Over/under anyone? ;-)
Some mornings, I wake up and, for just a second forget that this crap is happening.
I remember we used to say, ‘oh, that was before 0bama’ about things that we couldn’t believe had changed - for the worse! - like healthcare, being spyed on, debt, etc...
Now, I guess we’ll look back and say, ‘oh, that was before CV’.
Another devastating milestone :(
I pray we/the country/POTUS use this as a golden opportunity to make things better than ever and bring back our med/med supply and all other manufacturing, from China.
What an economic kickstarter that would be.
I live in NW Las Vegas, in the ‘burbs. I would imagine that the distribution/supply chain problems are mainly in the high population density areas, which makes sense. Maybe it’s coming here too, as people seek goods in suburban areas that are running out in higher density areas.
Not discounting the problem, only pointing out that the bare shelf issue is temporary and that no one has reason to panic. Long-term economic issues are a cause for concern, but when you consider that America is a capitalist economy, what else do we have? The stock market has to rise, and it will eventually.
Over/under anyone? ;-)
Eh, not funny. Disturbing actually.
Yikes....Rep Mario Díaz-Balart, R-FL
I admit I am subject to dark humor.
The reason to track Congress (as I explained much earlier in this thread) is that it is an effective way to track the scope of the infection, since each case will be publicized.
I am predicting the “first wave” (prior to the shut-downs) will be 5% of the population.
He has his priorities straight, right?
I stocked up on Rao’s marinara, a few weeks ago.
Well, gonna go downstairs, get ready for bed, and channel surf some before going to sleep. The way things have gone so sideways so fast, the combination of caffeine and fear has me so wired, I doubt I’ll get to sleep right away, even though I’ve been up since 3pm yesterday (night shift at work - on-site (!) - last night).
Not gonna watch Tucker tonight. He’s been a straight arrow throughout this unfolding disaster, but his narrative might wind up with me taking another shower from loading my undies. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a little better. Good night, all.
Las Vegas Mayor responding to Nevada Governor about 30 day shutdown of non-essential businesses:
I know we, and they, cannot survive any total shutdown of the economy for any length of time beyond the immediate week or two, she said, pointing to the hospitality industry and mom-and-pop shops in particular. Thus, my full efforts will be focused on keeping as many of our people as possible employed and asking the governor to shorten the projected shutdown.
Cannot survive.
Las Vegas, as an entity...as a city of 2.5 million...will dry up and blow away in the desert winds without tourism.
Thanks for ping:) God help them.
I don't want to see anyone get COVID-19 or suffer the economic damage that will be upon us.
My heart breaks for senior citizens who look scared when they can't find the things they need in stores. Saw some real kindness in that store when a couple of people gave some of their grocery items to an older man and woman, who were looking for the same items. I hope their children will help look after them. 40-50 years ago - sure. Today - I don't know.
Coronavirus patient on hellish ordeal: I was screaming for mercy and praying to God
We all need to relax - seriously. I’m not a flubro by any means. What is happening is bigger than all of us. Been spending a lot of attention to prepping, being careful, keeping informed, etc.
At some point, though, we have to take a step back
I had this conversation with my family today. Anxiety and stress are killers too.
I’ve been taking some down time each day - no TV or radio. Been cooking, gardening, taking a walk, reading, praying. Even (ugh) housecleaning.
Going to take some time tomorrow to clean out the clutter in the spare room.
He’s lying, nobody can read that barcode.
That said, Hanks was in an Aussie govt hospital. It’s all they have.
Harris said the doctors gave him a cocktail of vitamins including lots of vitamin C cough medicine, an experimental antiviral medication, a malaria vaccine and antibiotics.
“Will they come out of this legendary heroes?”
I don’t think anyone will. I don’t think we will glamorize any of it when it’s finally over. More like we will all have PTSD, and it will be something we just don’t like talking or thinking about.
I am not sure he meant he knew based on the numbers in the bar code...just that fact that there was a barcode
this guys ordeal has me shook. I can’t go through that.
Thank you for Corona Virus Thread Number 20!
