Several weeks ago, I started work on a Monday with a sore throat and headache. I was doing a final review of my high rise building in anticipation of the Fire Marshall's visit that week.
Tuesday, I was sick as a dog. Raging fever, aches and chills, migraine, and a persistent, dry cough. Used Dayquil and Nyquil to dampen the effects and clear my system.
By Wednesday, I was at my doctor's office. I tested negative for the flu. Blood pressure and temperature were way up. They gave me a cocktail booster shots, ciprofloxacin, and prednisone. Doctor ordered chest x-rays. I had those done the same day.
On Thursday, my son drove me to the doctor for my chest xray results. No pneumonia. Doctor told me to return or go to the hospital if I got worse.
By Friday night I was at the hospital with chest and lung pain so severe, I thought I was having a heart attack. More chest x-rays and an MRI on my lungs. My body temp was a shockingly low 96.6. BP up by 50%. Blood oxygen level would drop to 80% every time I had a coughing fit.
IV meds, more steroids, and sent back home. The cough finally loosened up and my strength started to return. They diagnosed it as an upper respiratory condition.
I made it to work on Monday and Tuesday, but was out sick with more fever, aches, chills on Wednesday.
Missed another day the following week for the same reason.
Finally had a good week where I didn't crash and made it through the weekend instead of sleeping and coughing the whole time. Was able to deep clean my house, tackle the mountain of laundry, cook for my family, and spend time with my kids and husband.
Last week, I started feeling weak again. Cough was coming back. Made it through the week but crashed all weekend with a rolling fever. Pain returned to my lungs, shortness of breath...here we go again! My urine was also turning cloudy and dark.
Doctor told me to go to the hospital. My son, whose college had shut down and whose office is closed, drove me there. More tests.
This time, my lung xray showed pneumonia. The Doctor also wanted me to follow up with a pulmonologist for possible COPD. The same tests a month ago showed my lungs as clear!
They would not test me for coronovirus.
I don't want to self-diagnose, but I think they are missing the boat here.
I usually bounce back from things fairly quickly and have a high pain threshold. I did 15 hours of labor natural with my son but that chest and lung pain still ranks as the worst of my life.
Can you please remember me in your prayers? I've already used up my accumulated sick/vacation time and won't get paid for this week. Also, now that my son's office is closed, he will need my help meeting his bills so he can keep his savings for his next semester in college.
Thanks.
Prayers up.
Prayers but go to a drive-up and get tested, if you have to have a drs approval call another Fr.
My son has been sick for 3 weeks and thought he was getting better until today and I’m going to insist he get a test as soon as they are available.
Very sorry to read you are still so sick.
Will pray for you again.
I’m so sorry, this sounds so painful. I am praying for your complete and quick recovery.
And it does seem like Wu Flu, with the repeated recurrences, suggesting mutations or an incomplete immune response due to it being novel. You need a second (third, etc.) opinion fast. May the Good Lord allow for a drive-thru test location in your area soon. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
In my prayers.
After one gets a bad pneumonia, viral bronchitis, or influenza, the chances of getting another infection in the next 3 months is high, and often a cold that in the past you would get over quickly will turn into a severe bronchitis or you will get a secondary bacterial pneumonia.
It has to do with injured tissue and lowered immunity.
Prayers for your health and healing !
Prayers up! Do you have short term disability insurance?
Everyone should! I had a AVR CABG two years ago and was out of work for 5 months. I thought I had to use up all my sick leave first but, NO! I got the disability insurance after 2 weeks and supplemented that with 16 hours of leave time per pay period. The insurance payments are tax free if paid for with pre-tax dollars.
Some French doctors are saying no anti-inflammatory for covid-19.
Maybe their diagnosis was incorrect.
You have my prayers.
Prayers up for an urgent situation.
I am staggered that they are refusing to test you for COVID. I would have expected you to be what with your symptoms.
His/her latest xray shows pneumonia.
Prayers for your healing, in Jesus’ name.
Pinging the prayer Warriors to your thread
Just for general info, this is from the Lancet review of 5400 cases:
Fever and cough are the most common symptoms in patients with 2019-nCoV infection, and most of them have abnormal chest CT examination. Some people have muscle soreness or fatigue, ARDS. Diarrhea, hemoptysis, headache, sore throat, shock and other symptoms only occur in a small number of patients. The mortality rate of patients with 2019-nCoV infection was lower than that of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SRAS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).
Prayers up.
CAN we?!?
And will!!
And DO!!!
But then again the didnt have the test.
Do not forget Nature’s healer: Chicken Soup
Urgent prayer request.
