Don’t know if this will help but it is an old family treatment for flu. Put half teaspoon of tea tree oil on large bowl. Have large towel ready. Pour boili g water onto the oil, about a quart. Breathe the fumes through nose if you can but vet the vapor into your bronchials. Never breathe steam just the vapor once liquid is cooling. As the liquid cools, place the towel over your head and the bowl. Prayers up

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. FYI, the latest I’ve read is that Tylenol is a better bet if you’re running a fever than aspirin or any of its NSAID cousins:

https://www.jpost.com/HEALTH-SCIENCE/French-health-minister-Ibuprofen-can-aggravate-coronavirus-621194
[While ibuprofen is often many people’s go-to medication for feeling sick, it might be a counterproductive choice during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

According to an announcement by the French Health Minister Olivier Veran over social media, anti-inflammatory painkiller drugs such as ibuprofen (which is also known as Motrin and Advil) and cortisone could simply make the coronavirus worse by aggravating it, CNN reported.

This announcement was made on the same day as an official announcement from the French government, which reported that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), such as ibuprofen, could result in “grave adverse effects” in those suffering from COVID-19.

Some researchers have cast doubt on this information. One such expert, University of St Andrews Infection and Global Health Division researcher Muge Cevik, wrote over Twitter that “There’s no scientific evidence I am aware of that ibuprofen [causes worse] outcomes in #COVID19.”

However, other experts argue that drugs like ibuprofen should be avoided, even if the connection isn’t fully understood. One such expert – Rupert Beale, group leader in Cell Biology of Infection at the UK’s Francis Crick Institute – said that “There is a good reason to avoid ibuprofen as it may exacerbate acute kidney injury brought on by any severe illness, including severe COVID-19 disease,” CNN reported.]

Along with the prayers, get you some vitamin D daily.

Sunshine, and supplements [700IU recommended daily allowance]

I'm taking a 1000IU D3, along with 800IU in a multivitamin. Some in regular food sources - milk has about 70-100IUs per 8oz glass.

There's an upper level - 4000IUs is too much [vitamin D toxicity after a while].

Prayers up. I’m surprised they won’t test you for coronavirus. Maybe they will now?

A perfect example why we should not go in public when sick and should shelter in place. Of course, it sounds as if this person got sick before we knew much. Meanwhile, it is true that the Chinese are testing high dosage intravenous Vitamin C. and there may be efforts to prevent us from hearing about it. My military son says that Google took some You-Tube videos regarding the Chinese testing off the “air.” At any rate, here is the link.

https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=228745
“Participants in the experimental group will receive 24 grams of IV vitamin C per day for 7 days. That’s more than 260 times the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin C for adults and children age 4 years old and up, which is 90 mg per day.

“In a series of YouTube videos released within the last two weeks, Richard Cheng MD, PhD, Chinese Edition Editor of the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service states there are at least three clinical trials in China studying the effects of high-dose IV vitamin C for the treatment of COVID-19. He mentions the Shanghai Medical Association has released an expert consensus statement on the comprehensive treatment of COVID-19 where they endorse the use of high-dose IV vitamin C for the illness.”

THey are also considering testing for oral high dose C. and say that C is anti-inflammatory. Probably different from medical anti-inflammatory substances which might be a problem.

If you use too much C you get burning urine or acid farts, and then need to reduce the amount you take.
I have used as much as 24 grams spread out over 24 hours for a bad flu without getting the above symptoms. I once helped a woman at a MASH tent who was swollen and choking after 3 yellow jacket stings. It was a large camping scene. She had forgotten her bee sting kit. I immediately crushed 10 grams (10,000 mg.) C in a glass of water and had her drink it. In 20 minutes her swelling was down, and her eyes and throat were open. I spent a total of 8 hours with her giving 5 grams every hour. That was 50 grams over 8 hours. She had NO urine or gas symptoms. She felt better and wanted to sleep, so I left her with a small bottle of C tablets. I heard she walked out 3 miles the next day. Some US doctors have used 100 grams intravenous or more per day for snake bite, black widow, and deadly type viruses.

Your body excretes excess Vitamin C in 5 or 6 hours. So taking 3 or 4 times a day is good. Animals our size make 2 to 4 grams of C a day when NOT under stress. I have used 3 to 6 grams a day for over 45 years depending on my allergies. I am now a healthy 81 year old. If you do use very large doses of C, you should taper down the amount over several days as it apparently destroys a body chemical that needs several days to regenerate. Big Pharma will not make money if this is a good treatment. Good luck and avoid crowds.

I had something similar a year ago. I typically get bronchitis after a cold and have since college. Bronchitis set in about ten days after my January 2019 cold. Usually it’s a dry, hard cough, but this got a lot worse. The first Urgent Care Clinic doc said that the bronchitis going around took ON AVERAGE 12 weeks to go away. I am an average guy and at the end of the 12th week it decided to leave me. Three rounds of different antibiotics (for those opportunistic infections), two rounds of steroids, and two different inhalers. I’m not sure any of those did any good. Fortunately, I’m retired and I was able to get lots of rest and get outside as much as I could in the dead of winter.

Your case sounds awful. I hope you get better soon.

See my comment #74. My Special Forces son is now taking 5,000 units of D daily and it works for his SAD winter depression. I think this may be the newest dose recommendation.

I also wanted to mention what I would do for my children when they had a sore throat, cough, or ear infection. Starting when they were about a year old, I would make a bottle or give a cup of water with 500 mg. of crushed vitamin C, a tablespoon of honey, and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of garlic power mixed in. When very young they would wake at night, start to cry, but then suckle the bottle a little and go back to sleep. I also used it when I had a dry scratchy cough and it really helped. Of course, I was also using more C in tablet form. Slippery elm losenges are natural and good.

They didn’t have a lot of tests available and were saving them for the worst cases. They told me to stay home until Friday, gave me 3 meds and an inhaler.

I think because my fever broke that morning that I didn’t check all the boxes. I don’t want to take a test away from someone who really needs it, but I also don’t want to be responsible for infecting anyone else if I have it.

Just trying to safeguard my fellow citizens and not over-react.
