I doubt if the Mensa-duo will be able to go on their cruise. Those ships are going to be berthed due to bankruptcies. You can bet people all over the country are canceling their reservations and asking for refunds. There may even be cruise companies taking a hiatus. Stores and movie theater chains are closing on their own, without help from big nanny governments. Maybe the Mensa-cruise company will do the same. The store I normally buy shirts from (Boscov's in Maryland) just closed down for the time being, for example, leaving me with the unpalatable option of buying from the skinny-shelves Wal-Mart in town in a pinch.

I’m betting that Ohio has dead malls all over the place. Their parking lots would be ideal places for field hospitals. I doubt that the malls themselves would; they’re undoubtedly falling apart inside, with mold, dirt, water damage, etc.

a rhinovirus is not a corona virus. One is an upper respiratory infection and one is not.

effects of external temp on a virus are not the same as the effects of body temp on a virus. Because there are other factors to external environments. UV, evaporation rate, type of surface - porous or no, type of fabric, viral load, etc. etc.

The study you linked to, substantiates what I said - the lungs are 98.6F. And the virus is quite happy there setting up housekeeping in the alveoli. Even happier with a fever - at which point there will be trillions of the little buggers.

Has anyone seen anything on whether it is possible to disinfect a N95 mask and re-use it?

Yes. 65C for 15 minutes. The masks can be reused, however will become harder to breath out of due to particulate clogging. The temperature and time is based on MERs studies.

If you have an electric oven you can set it to that temperature. A spa sterilizer can do the same. The prices have gone up.

I'm not comfortable with strictly UVC sterilizers because of depth of treatment.

I don’t know about “cement themselves.” But they clog the pipes. Times when I’ve had clogs and couldn’t flush, I have wrapped used toilet paper in about 10 plastic bags and put it in the trash. I’m sure everyone has had to do that, except the people who can bury it in the back yard.

Somebody told me earlier today that the cops are clearing the homeless out of the subways. The subway cars have about 3 people in each car. Could be healthier than the sidewalk.
