I wish we had more information about the percentages of people in the hospital or even contact tracing made public like they’ve done in Singapore and S. Korea. The public could be helpful in this regard I think.

It’s possible. That’s why it’s wise to tune out most media, MSLSD, Commie News Network, etc.

The Mormons will ride it out with easy - they’ve been prepping for decades. Millennials - not so easy for them!

Do the tissue cement themselves in the pipe like the paper towels do. I had no problem, personally, but I only used them once or twice.

Yeppers, noticed that a few weeks ago. Right up I-35 and all the demonrat strongholds.

I think the main reason people in podunk Llano are upset about the multiple potential cases there is because of the LEAF festival there last week. LEAF - Llano Earth Art Festival or something. A bunch of liberal hippie earth fairy folk. I hadn’t heard of it but pictures show costumed fairies stacking river rocks. Looked like a pre event for Austin’s Eeyore’s Birthday (cancelled).

MI

The Michigan Department of Corrections has learned that two of its employees received positive tests for COVID-19, the state announced.

“One is an employee at the Jackson County Probation Office, who had a recent history of international travel,” the state reported. “The second is an employee at the Detroit Detention Center, who does not have a history of domestic or international travel.”

Now the MDOC is working to see which coworkers and which prisoners were in contact with the employees.

I dug out paperwork from when my wife got the diagnosis for COPD and was prescribed a nebulizer w/albuterol and inhalers. She took that to work last night to the nursing home she works at so she could show it to her boss. She might come home today and stay home for a couple of weeks. She should according to the guidelines but as of the evening news last night, Missouri hasn’t adopted those guidelines yet. News people were shaming a restaurant/pub in St Louis for being open. A reporter at yesterday’s task force presser asked about the handful of States not doing anything and Trump said, we know who they are and will be talking to them.

My wife just called. Her boss doesn't have a clue. Told my wife she does have the right to self quarantine at least but I would prefer they tell her, yes, go home and we'll tell you when it's ok to coma back. Checking Missouri Dept of Health and Dept of labor websites is not much help. Here's Dept of Labor FAQ;

Question 9: Will an individual be eligible for unemployment benefits if they are ill because of the coronavirus and unable to work?
Answer: No. Individuals must be able to work, available for work, and actively seeking suitable work. If an individual is ill, they would not meet these criteria.

Well there's a fine how do you do. Wife doesn't know what to do. I told her to come home and we'll see what they say at today's press conference. I love Missouri most of the time but they're so far behind and slow to act on some things. Seems like one of the spread patterns is, there's a few cases in a State and then it hits a nursing home and ravages it, both residents and workers. My wife has worked at this facility before when a different company ran it. They closed the doors due to air quality issues of the building. Couldn't stop the black mildew. Said it would take a million dollars to fix. A year later, it was reopened by a different company. I don't think anything was done to the building. I don't know if the first owners/board members just wanted out of it or what. Not a good situation. They do have it pretty much on lockdown. No non-med visitors. All staff get temp taken daily at the start of their shift. Deliveries drop off outside and leave and then staff go out and bring the stuff in. I think Missouri will probably take up the guidelines at some point.

I’m guessing putting a window unit a/c in a home isolation room (to keep the windows closed) would still circulate the virus to the yard and porch where kids and pets can bring in inside.

With the window fan pushing the virus out, what about anyone outside in the yard?

We have plans for an isolation room but I’ve had concerns that opening the ground floor isolation room windows will just blow it to the yard and back into the house. Pets will bring it in. Kids will bring it in. Neighbors will bring it into their houses.

Euro heads of state are having to kiss Xi’s derriere, making “head of state” phone calls, praising China, and begging for medical equipment, drugs and supplies. Germany, Spain, Italy, France, etc. Meanwhile, Trump isn’t willing to kiss Xi’s ass. No help from China for US, we will rally our own industry and people to meet our demand. Will the Euros end up a colony of China, isolating us, or will we all learn a lesson from this fiasco?

I always figured it would be tech that finally brought us around, and Trump seemed to be pushing back against Huwei and other Chinese tech. Instead, it looks like medical tech, supplies and pharma are our tripwire. Of course, a year from now, a lot of folks will forget. When will people realize that being dependent on China for any necessity has a huge down side?

SWITZERLAND

ZURICH (REUTERS) - Switzerland’s health-care system could collapse by the end of the month if the new coronavirus keeps spreading at current rates, a government official warned on Tuesday (March 17).

Swiss authorities estimated that 2,650 people had tested positive for the coronavirus and said 19 people had died, while predicting cases will likely soar in the weeks ahead.

Exact figures were unavailable.
...
Koch urged residents to observe strict emergency measures ordered this week, including bans on events and gatherings, calling these critical in limiting the damage and protecting hospitals from a potential collapse.

“People who become infected today will only hit us in 10 days from now,” Koch said at a news conference.

“We have to make sure the infection rate goes down today, because otherwise, in 10 days (Swiss hospitals) won’t be able to handle it.”

No, windows units recirculate indoor air. Intake is through the filter and then comes out vent. That air blowing outside is outside air that blows through the condenser. The air blowing indoors is blown across the evaporator. Same with central AC. There might be some high dollar systems that bring in outside air. I know some automobiles have fresh/recirculate option. Definitely not window units though. I’m EPA certified for automotive AC but not residential/commercial.
