If it turns out that a lot more people have it than they think do, then it means the mortality rate is a lot lower than we think it is.

maybe, but if there are 500,000 infected people and the mortality rate is 4%, then I think 20,000 of us old folks are gonna die. I suspect that will cover a lot of on this site.
After reading the accounts submitted by people that survived, my co-worker and myself had this. it was mild but we had all the symptoms, the fever, the chills, the reduced lung function.
It was like a bad cold back in January. We both work with a lot of people that travelled to and from Asia.

Mortality rate is 3.8% using this mornings CDC data. Based on that number, the projected world death toll will be 231,040,000 figuring 80% of the world population is infected. It’s jus gearing up in South America, Africa , and India.

He has zero way to know that. If that were true and given a 2% mortality rate then 10,000 should be dead or dying. Not happening.
