The Real Threat to Our Democracy During Coronavirus - Pelosi, Schiff & Co. were too busy dragging the country through impeachment to pay attention to ominous developments in Asia

If there ever was a real threat to our democracy in today’s rancid political climate, it emanates from Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats who follow them like lemmings. This coronavirus first appeared in November 2019. By December 31, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan knew about it and were on alert. Singapore knew on January 4. South Korea on January 8. By January 9 the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control were onto it.

And what was Congress doing during this time? We all recall that December was consumed with impeachment, and that the House rushed at double-time speed to impeach before Christmas, then held up the Senate and sat on the articles. As late as January 9, while the WHO and Europeans were latching onto the new disease, Pelosi still was focused on her cat-and-mouse game. On January 15 she was handing out souvenir pens and finally delivered the impeachment papers. All this time, while Pelosi and the Democrats were messing around with impeachment, and playing little coy games as to when or whether they would bring the papers to the Senate, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted this on January 13:

The CDC further announced at that time that the genome had been posted on the NIH genetic sequence database. It is a matter of public record that the Democrats, the Washington Post, the New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN, and MSNBC all were obsessed at the time with the nonsensical still-born Pelosi impeachment, doing all they could to focus public attention on that foolishness in their never-ending effort to take down Trump, while the gigantic story under their noses - the emerging coronavirus plague - went virtually unreported.

January 21: The first person with coronavirus arrives in the United States from China, where he had been in Wuhan.
January 23: The House impeachment managers make their opening arguments for removing President Trump.
January 23: China closes off the city of Wuhan completely to slow the spread of coronavirus to the rest of China.
January 30: Senators begin asking two days of questions of both sides in the president’s impeachment trial.
January 30: The World Health Organization declares a global health emergency as coronavirus continues to spread.
January 31: The Senate holds a vote on whether to allow further witnesses and documents in the impeachment trial.
January 31: President Trump declares a national health emergency and imposes a ban on travel to and from China. Former Vice President Joe Biden calls Trump’s decision “hysterical xenophobia … and fear-mongering.”
February 2: The first death from coronavirus outside China is reported in the Philippines.
February 3: House impeachment managers begin closing arguments, calling Trump a threat to national security.
February 4: President Trump talks about coronavirus in his State of the Union address; Pelosi rips up every page.
February 5: The Senate votes to acquit President Trump on both articles of impeachment, 52-48 and 53-47.
February 5: House Democrats finally take up coronavirus in the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia.

Exactly! Infuriates me when the media criticize Trump for being to slow in responding. Why don’t they ask Biden,Pelosi, Schumer, et al who have been in Congress for MANY years how could they allow our medicines to be produced in China?? Just like Bernie screaming that the infrastructure is crumbling. Did all of this happen in the last 3.5 years?? NO. Dems were too busy with phony investigations. And, ignored scandals that should have been investigated...Benghazi, Clinton emails, etc ! From the outset of his 1st campaign, Trump talked of bringing manufacturing back to America. Praying this will now happen!
