No, it’s for Coronavirus quarantine - Newsome is an idiot, but the hotels are really hurting and I think this was probably more to support the hotel than anything else. Most people in CA who get diagnosed with Wuhan are probably middle to upper class (the “homeless” probably have it raging through them, but nobody would notice).
I was in a luxury hotel in Charleston today to go to the nearly empty restaurant and one of the people in the shops told us that occupancy was in the single digits. That’s 5 or 6 rooms for a huge and very elegant, fun hotel. The hotel and travel industries are suffering and I hope there’s some plan to help them.
But of course, if Newsome has anything to do with it, the hotel is connected to his family money. He’s the nephew of the lunatic Pelosi.
Imagine the cleanup required to make the rooms habitable for paying guests

Why not take over some of the idle cruise ships? At least they could take them out and sink them.
This is why I will not get tested unless I’m already in a hospital. You test positive and you’ll get tossed into some flea bag hotel. Sorry but I’d rather die.

I am a little disappointed that you began you post to me with what I assume you meant to be an insult. That’s usually a counterproductive way to start a conversion among FRiends.
Anyway, I am quite suspicious of Gov. Newsom’s motives here. It looks like an illegal power grab. But I will not automatically assume the worst until more evidence is in.
