Trump's Response Today
Vanity | 3/13 | Week71

Posted on 03/13/2020 4:06:24 PM PDT by week 71

The most interesting observation I made with the President's announcement today was the legion of private sector business leaders he had there to discuss their ideas and cooperation to overcome this disease.

Seems historically politicians have 'so & so ' from the department of this or that representing government aid. I am of the persuasion using the private sector will greatly decrease the danger of this scourge.

The right President for the right time.

We will have to wait and see, but I agree that what was laid out this afternoon was a confidence builder for me.

That is probably why the markets went up as well.

Press conferences are his element. Spontaneity is his forte.

Mike is very supportive but also thinks on his own. He’ll make a good President using the Trump Model.

So much better than creating more departments and czars to handle this. Just go directly to those who can help. It’s better for the public as well as businesses.

He was good - not too spontaneous, but presenting the plan he had worked out. Also, I really like the way he presents subordinates and gives them credit.

But according to my husband’s liberal friends on Facebook, he isn’t doing anything!

President Trump left me speechless.
He is so smart!
He’s a genius!
Who would have ever thought of using the private sector to find a cure? Let the people rule!
BRAVO Mr President!
25 more years!

You’re right.

OBiden-Bama would have blathered on and had some other High Gummint Potentates blather on about how they would be creating a New Government Blah Blah and calling on all State and Local Blah Blahs to set up screening centers and coordinating the whole mess through a telephone hotline.

Businessman POTUS Trump calls a couple of CEOs: Can you build us a website really quick? Can we use a corner of your parking lot for drive-thru testing sites?

Emergency Declaration. Done deal.

That’s the real power of the Pen and the Phone.

If he can get a bit more gravel in his voice and quickness to his wit, we MIGHT have a near-clone

A thorough delousing from his days exposed to the pre-Trump SWAMP would be extra reassuring.

Yes. I agree. I thought Trump's Wednesday speech was poorly delivered (I think he was tired/exhausted) and needed more content, but today, wow! I was very impressed. It showed how much work was going on that we were unaware of until today.

His private/public alliance shows both sectors in the best of light. I'm not one to gush at all, but he was born for this. FWIW, I think this whole thing is a gross over reaction by the media but he can't say that. Very impressive.

He needs to shut down CNN and MSNBC.

Panic ends immediately.

Stores will be over flowing with TP and Hand Sanitizer.

100% agree. He’s a smart man, but he struggles a bit in the Oval Office address forum. He really shined in today’s format, and I thought the format that brought all the various leaders to the mic was very smart. Would be interested to know whose idea that was.

I’m far less anxious after seeing the top guns from the private sector involved. Imagine an Obama “state of emergency” replete with affirmative action bureaucrats.

Think twice before entering a store where test samples are being received in the parking lot. At least some people who are there and wanting to be tested will also enter those stores.

There will be stores in the same company in neighboring cities or towns without the on-site testing.
