Yesterday's thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3823939/posts?page=1301
“An apples-to-apples comparison is South Korea where the death rate in confirmed cases in 0.7.”
Was, a few days back. Now up to 0.8% or so. The guy that was denying the numbers then claimed 99% of the remaining cases were mild (but provided no source). Wouldn’t accept that with the comprehensive testing and contact tracing that SK was doing that the 0.7% number could ONLY go up. Still true.
You can’t assume that all the unresolved cases will resolve favorably. The actual CFR is still over 11% - not the horrifying number it was a few days ago, but still pretty bad. Eventually the CFR and the DCR will converge, but because SK is doing such a thorough job it will be something higher than the current 0.8% the DCR stands at, now.
CFR - Case Fatality Rate = deaths/(deaths+recoveries)
DCR - Deaths to Cases Ratio = deaths/cases
Marshall Plan for antibiotics.
And fast.
And LMW heparin and etc.
It’s okay, you guys are still in the denial phase. We understand.
Just don’t get really nasty like some have.
Lord am I glad I don’t live in a place like that. Everyone here is as calm and polite as could be, but at the same time cognizant of the need to purchase food and supplies (SE WA State).
If we could charge meter rates it would pay. But cabs meters are what
they are for a reason. We scratch out a living. Delivery pays peanuts. Ive tried to supplement with such things as Door Dash and Postmates and while the occasional order paid well over all it was a pittance.
If anyone out there is in charge of arranging these things think of contracting with a local cab company for flat rates or something. Be aware we need decent money to make it work. But we are ideal for the job you could have us dispatched or you could send out manifests the night before. We do that for medical transport and it pays well.
I become convinced we may not see antibiotics shipped to the US from China for the forseeable future.
I’m not sure there aren’t political issues in China right now. Power struggles as it were.
I still want to know who the ‘higher up’ was that got the double lung transplant so quickly. Had to be someone far up the chain.
Well, it looks like Kroger might be willing to negotiate. It might not hurt to make an offer as a group.
“Me? I have to make my own hand sanitizer....”
I bought extra because I knew the wife would hand some out, but post your formula, it might help someone.
“Actually he was a cardiac surgeon.”
Don’t be surprised if all of the doctors get drafted to help when a heavy load of infected hit the hospital, regardless of specialty. I wouldn’t count on any voluntary procedures taking place, either, for a few months. Not that I’d want to be anywhere near a hospital any time soon (have stuff to cancel or reschedule, actually).
2/3 91% alcohol
1/3 water
A few drops of favorite essential oil
Sense that he doesn’t trust the procedure. And this then must extend to all, especially in “proximity” testing stations. With no buying store lockouts for non test electives.
Hand sanitizer before and after.
As long as you are touching your face you will be fine.
Wash going in. Wash coming out.
And good for him.
