MADISON, Wis. Wisconsin health officials are warning parents to prepare contingency plans for school closures as the number of coronavirus infections in the state continues to rise.
The state Department of Health Services said the number of confirmed cases as of Friday afternoon stood at 19, up from eight on Thursday. Officials said the number of cases went up because of national spread of the virus, and it was expected that numbers would rise.
There are new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Dane, Milwaukee, Racine and Sheboygan counties, DHS said Friday.

So glad you did, sissy!!
Better to have it, and not need it, than need it and not have it.
And....like you said....no long lines for you/us :)

Isn't that just what some folks are defining as "panic and hysteria"? Shouldn't people be showing up and drinking wine from the common chalice? /s

I sure hope they had a fun Carnivale!
CHEROKEE NATION PSA
$40M set aside by federal govt for tribes to cope with COVID
The Cherokee Nation is taking steps to keep our community safe....Cherokee Nation is upholding these values in helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 as best we can. In this effort, we are postponing large, community gatherings for the time being. This includes not only local meetings, but also at-large gatherings.
We will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and announce any postponements or reschedules on our Cherokee Nation Facebook page. Please listen to this important message from Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. on how you too can help.

More likely lack of oxygen.
Squaw Warren to be placed in charge of administering funds.
Wow—sounds like we have the same mother! (Except I’m sure none of my liberal sibs would be posting here.)
The good old days.
CDC needs to get out of the way. As numbers increase, these states are not going to have time or resources to collect, process, document, ship and follow up on redundant samples for the CDC to verify. Why are we wasting resources on both ends and using twice the required number of tests? Does the CDC lab have nothing better to do than verify tests?
You would think they could spare one person to update the website numbers.
The presumptive positive is a crazy thing. My son has friends that go to a private school and even though every school within 50 miles is closed, they were going to stay open. The reasoning was that presumptive meant it wasnt a real case in the county. I guess parents gave them the what-for because they decided to close later.

TRENTON, N.J. - New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced 21 new cases of presumed positive coronavirus Friday, raising the state total to 50 presumptive cases with one death.
Gov. Murphy says the state is currently working with school districts on extended closure plans to prepare for a potential statewide closure.
On Friday afternoon, health department officials announced an additional presumptive positive case of novel coronavirus identified in Camden County. The patient, a woman in her 60s, is currently in self-isolation at her home in Cherry Hill and is maintaining frequent contact with the county health department.

Probably just extras to take the load off...for those calling in sick, etc.
The Mexican border! Warning next time. I just scared the dog by bursting out laughing.
Please! That would be too much like right! They use those EBT cards at the convenience store and spend 20 times what they would at the grocery store. No one knows how to cook anymore. Too much trouble to give the kids cereal and milk for breakfast, or a sandwich and soup for lunch.
All the school districts are trying to figure out to feed the kids while they are out. Heck our old district had food trucks that went around to all the parks every summer and school break. Handed out free meals to the “poor, starving kids”. The same ones who we provide food stamps to their mommas. Why are we giving you food stamps if we are feeding your spawn?
Actually from the look of the reddits for kroger and clicklist (kroger pickup), they’re getting slammed.
they need the help just to get shelves stocked and orders picked.
people have (wisely) decided to limit their exposure in the store to umpteen hundreds of people who have coughed in that aisle in the past several hours and just pick up their orders. Still have to wipe it all down but at least you’re not in the store.
