Maybe because of how slow/behind the testing capability is?

Correct on both.
Testing should be exploding, but the spread of the virus will be faster than the increase in testing imho.
The increase testing will make more aware of the danger.
The hardest-hit region around Milan has had to improvise as its health system has been deeply stressed by the sheer number of patients. In Milan and Brescia, field hospitals have been set up in the fairgrounds as the local hospitals have been drowned in patients.
Because the demand for respirators and intensive care has been beyond any previous planning, doctors have been forced into the kind of triage thinking developed for intense battlefield casualty situations. There are reports that emergency room doctors are allotting respirators to those with higher life expectancy due to the limited equipment in the hardest hit areas of the province. If you are older or have other illnesses, you may simply not be eligible for treatment.

For some reason, don’t put the bread against the wall. It does better in the middle. Yeah, that messes up the stuffed space.
Eat the oldest first so you don’t get freezer burn. If anything starts to look like it might be getting freezer burn, eat it today/now/first. With meat, the burn can be cut off and cooked for the dog. Use the remaining for a spicy dish so any off flavor will be hidden. Cut the meat into small pieces so the spice can penetrate more than large pieces.
Watch out for old vegetables. Those need to go into the trash as there’s no saving them. They shrivel up and well, just no. Or toss them in the compost pile.
The top layer of ice cream can be scraped off so that it’s fine in the middle. Perhaps put the top part into a smoothie or feed it to the dog.
This means that those college kids who are partying in Florida right now will get priority in treatment over elderly folks staying in and trying to avoid spreading the virus.
Life is _not_ fair.

I can’t argue the need the CLUB people over the head with a 2x4. We all know people who still think they’re ‘woke’ by running around in public and doing things which they literally have NO NEED to be doing (like eating out).
Ok...feeling much better this morning. Took a few hours to fall asleep, but I was able to eventually unwind.

Got a contact to do an online seminar/convention/talk for a group in Dublin, Ireland with a 5% ticket split.
And listened to one of my favorite speaker podcasts.
Wow that wave of darkness has lifted and while today really isn’t all the brighter...
I am feeling like I can take control of things back.
On a longer note I think my feelings last night really typified what many Americans are feeling and the panic that is building. It isn’t the virus that’s triggering this hysteria...it is the feeling of the loss of control over our daily lives. Communists take this loss of control all in stride it’s normal for them. Americans? Not so much.

Even in China, the lockdown was hell for them. But the real test case will be whether the people in the UK even notice their loss of freedom (and whether they’ll be allowed to comment on it, without being called a Racist).
Great suggestions! I will add, before old veggies totally turn, or save the scraps and make vegetable stock for soups, stocks, etc.
