Officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and epidemic experts from universities around the world conferred last month... Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.
And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the U.S. could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

I’m not much on conspiracy theories either, but something seems way off with just a few thousand deaths in China. Anyone who has visited a Chinese city knows how packed people are living together. If this virus is so contagious and lethal, they should have had many more deaths even using extreme measures. China has figured out how to tap into world anxiety. It’s going to be the new method of war.

Chart is probably outdated. One listed in Oklahoma has fully recovered. The other is in the military had returned from visit to Washington state. Not sure if there were any new infections from the Utah Jazz player who tested positive.

It seems revealing that you cannot even get one offer (real of fake) on Ebay for virus test kit. Ebay did ban facemasks, hand sanitizers.
How is it different from the flu?
We have public health officials in Ohio asserting there could very well be 100,000 infected in that state alone. Where are the dead and dying if that is the case? Thus far the US has suffered 39 deaths related to Chinese Coronavirus. Again, if this represents approximately 1% of all infections you are nowhere near approaching these doomsday estimates.
This will pass, and when it does it may very well be that the media may well have spread a panic that has caused for more damage than the virus did
