She's making it up as she goes along!Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Great post! Living in Washington State, the overreaction by Democrat officials is nuts.
Even the underestimating CDC number for fatality rate is climbing. Low of 3.4% on 3/7, now 3.7% on 3/13
Yes, but the 0.8% is still for recorded cases, there are probably 2-4x as many unrecorded, so the rates are closer than you think so its closer than you think. That 0.14% in a bad year is an estimate not based on recorded cases. Bottom line if you are under 65, this virus is either equal to or less risky than the flu, 65-75 a bit riskier and over 75 a lot riskier.
The flu on average has killed 546 people over this two day period. I don’t trust the site’s serious number, one site had 10 people in serious condition and that might account for the 3 additional deaths.
Yesterday
TOTAL 1,336 (cases) 36 (deaths) 8 (recovered) 0 (serious)
Today
TOTAL 1,885 (cases) 39 (deaths) 8 (recovered) 0 (serious)
5. Finally, the blunt truth is that there is no wonder drugs, no therapy, or vaccine on the horizon. Your only option is to use the sports philosophy of delay-delay-delay by practicing good hygiene, limiting public contact, and if in the 85-percent group....do plain regular quarantine at home.
I agreed for 90% or more regular quarantine at home is the best option. But, for those seriously affected there is some hope.
New treatment methods are being used now. The HIV treatment ones are already approved (so, ready now if they work, they currently have great results). Transfusions using previous infected patients blood shown a lot of progress (and is already approved procedure). A gene sequencing one has been tested and approved for other closely related viruses.
There are over 90 pharmaceutical companies working on a cure and vaccine, several are showing great progress (not factored into the deathrate), Favilavir, Remdesivir, Actemra, REGN3048-3051, blood transfusions from survivors, etc.
The smoke from the Crematory working 24/7 in Cleveland is going be seen from SPACE!
Trump wasn’t the target during the swine flu.
“infection rate will go up and fatality rate is already coming down.”
The real fatality rate can’t be gauged until the virus has run its course. Only then can you get a true measurement of the fatality rate when deaths to total recoveries can be calculated. Right now globally the death to recovery rate is running near 7%
Wake up! Try some fava beans; they’re delicious!
I chuckled at this and I don’t know why.
LOL! Good retort FC I am kind of sleepy...was up at 3am thinking about the ramifications. Glad you’re woke though...
Turn on the Debt Slavery spigots productive. ‘Rat infested areas need mo money. Hey mini mike could’ve given those mensa minis a million each and still have money left over for some bat/rat soup. After all, it is the year of The White Metal Rat.
Can Hollyweird make a movie about Ratzilla? It takes some ‘rats to raze a republic.
It could be financed by FED RES. It might be a money maker.

No, the world’s not sold into debt slavery. Wake up, Tedder. Good stuff. Thanks. One Republic...oh the irony.
For the first time this year, I got a flu shot. My doctor has been standing on his head, trying to get me to take it, for over a decade, and I just would not. I told him the flu shot won’t prevent coronavirus. “No, it won’t, but it will kick your immune system into gear.” I still wasn’t convinced. Then he hit me below the belt, so to speak -— “If you get the coronavirus, and give it to your husband, he could die, because of his emphysema.”
Well, he had me there. I scowled at him, groused at him a bit more, then acquiesced. So far, I haven’t grown a 2nd ear, or sprouted another nostril, and didn’t have any aftereffects from the shot. But I’m still miffed he used dirty pool to get me to get it.

OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.

Forget your neutron bombs.
For the Love of G,
Wheres your toilet paper?!!!!
Just move to Frisco. Squat on the streets. No worries. There must be some of last year’s laying around.
If there are 100,000 cases and only a handful of them are severe enough to be diagnosed, isn’t that an encouraging sign?
I was at a Kroger’s yesterday near Cincinnati, and it was packed. Oddly, I didn’t hear a single cough, sneeze or wheeze.
If we’re 1% infected, I didn’t hear evidence of it.
In many reports in the past about flu in the USA, they report deaths per 100,000. Deaths are reported by law, so it would be a fairly accurate number. The average for flu was about 14 per 100,100 per year. At this point we have about 42 deaths per 330,000,000.
It isn’t over yet, but for now that works out to about .0001 per 100K.
