NHL commissioner Gary Bettman reached out to clubs Thursday morning to tell them the regular season would be suspended due to the spread of the coronavirus, a source indicated to The Post. There was a call scheduled for 1 p.m. to work out some of the details on what is a very fluid situation.
The league had already cancelled morning skates and practices Thursday morning, and they told teams to start working with their buildings to find dates to host games into July. An official announcement was expected later Thursday afternoon.

I cried last night when they said they were probably going to cancel the season. It breaks my heart. But everything is shutting down to try and cause less overwhelm to the medical system, so it is for the good of all people.
As a Blackhawks fan, I’m not exactly busted up.......
Chicago has been playing better as of late. Maybe this is the “break” they need.
Try being a Red Wings fan.
The Wings are my home team and I have been rooting for them since I was a very young child in the 60s. They were bad then, got much better for over 20 years, and now, with the horrible coach they have, are the worst team in the league.
Really dumb move.
