Everyone on the Diamond Princess was tested. That added 400 asymptomatic cases to the 300 known cases, which changed the 7 deaders from 2.3% fatalities to 1% fatalities.

"One of the issues with Covid-19 is the “unknown denominator” problem. There needs to be a way to test the general population to see how many have mild or asymptomatic cases. Right now the only people being tested are those with symptoms."

True. But that also applies to the normal flu numbers. We dont over sample the normal flu. Right now I would say only South Korea has over sampled covid19. China numbers are not trustworthy.
