Will we ever know for certain whether the poor souls in China died from COVID-19 or whether they died from their injuries following collapse of the coronavirus quarantine hotel?
“You’re just utterly, irretrievably wrong...One of the doctors in China, who had not been to Wuhan, caught it from a doctor who HAD been to Wuhan (this was back in January, btw), merely by sitting at the same table as him at a conference.”
I think you’re wasting your time with these types. I suspect part of it is denial, they simply cannot grasp the thought that something so dangerous could be transmitted so easily. But why the hell not? Anyway, denial is understandable as people start to grasp the implications of aerosol transmission.
In my case I sent an email to my boss last week and told them I’m going to work remotely at home until it’s over - implying if they don’t like the idea, they’re welcome to do as they wish. Obviously I can take whatever outcome comes of it (no response yet)...but just as obviously, most others cannot. Hence the need for denial.
“If you were a Disney lawyer, what would you tell the executives about tort?...What is Disneys liability if theyre implicated in an outbreak?...Ditto the restaurants?
Its an interesting line of thought...Who DOES end up really paying for the million dollar ICU visits.”
It will come down to our ‘friends’, meaning GOVERNMENT. As long as Disney can point to memos telling sick workers to stay home, they’ve met (today’s) government standards on preventing transmission (LOL). Otherwise, they would have to second-guess the ‘experts’ in government, who are clearly doing what’s best for everyone (LOL). Of course if there is other evidence where Disney suits are shown to know more than they’re letting on, then they could get in trouble - but only then.
So, bottom line, it is up to government to close them, or they’re likely protected against liability.
Now are they acting ethical when it’s so obvious government is asleep at the wheel...doesn’t matter in court.
GEORGIA
MARCH 08, 2020ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is awaiting confirmatory testing on four new presumptive positive tests for COVID-19 in Georgia residents. Testing was completed today at the Georgia Public Health Laboratory (GPHL) and the results have been submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for verification.
One individual is from Fulton County, another individual is from Cherokee County, and the other two individuals are from Cobb County, but they have no connection to each other. All of the individuals are hospitalized, and the sources of their infections are not known.
With the addition of these four presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, there are now six presumptive positives pendingconfirmatory testing by CDC, and five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia.
“The only reason I stocked up with TP is so I dont have to go out just for TP. Risk a pandemic for toilet paper ? Thats panicking.”
It depends - look at the pictures of South Koreans lining up for face masks, many without even having a mask on.
Would you want to be in a line (really mass of people in a small area) like that during an outbreak, when you could have easily avoided it by simply pushing ahead some purchases that would be made anyway?
Many here won’t have to stand in line for anything, as this virus sweeps through.
I’m allergic to latex.
“On the plus side, if you run out of food, you won’t need much TP. On the minus, if your prep closet is full of canned chili and no tp, well... I always keep at least a month or two on hand, but if my wife is told to work at home, well, I better go get more.”
And there are paper towels, for real men.
We’ll also never know how many died. From folks I know who live there or lived there and have contacts, they ALL believe the number dead is closer to 25000. But hey, it’s just the flu and only here to try and hurt Trump. SMH.
While I agree that projecting the numbers out may be a guessing game in this dynamic situation and seem counter productive to an extent, we can be certain that these numbers are being run by CDC as they anticipate case load and further actions that may prove necessary.
These actions may include school and public event closures and other things.
Additionally, there’s no way the US wants our case load to exceed China’s. Absolutely no way!
From an economic and geo-political perspective, it will be horrible optics if we, with only 1/5th of China’s population, exceed China’s case numbers .
At some point, when we start getting high numbers, I’d expect the CDC to change the testing criteria just as China did to artificially keep the numbers low.
So I’m looking to see the numbers in anticipation of further government actions in place and when CDC begins to change testing criteria, which is already seemingly restricted.

BREAKING: 5 members of the French parliament are now infected with Corona virus.
Good way to get everyone’s DNA too
Our case load wont exceed China. They are 4x larger than us. They also had thousands in Wuhan who were not tested.
Its an economic issue, not a you are gonna die issue.
Ive been saying that since January. And today thats slapping us in the face.
“I find it odd that Turkey has reported no cases but every country around them has. Meanwhile, they are still trying to stuff Syrian refugees into Greece. Might be a tad harder if there were possible CV cases among them.”
Or possibly that’s the REAL REASON for trying to get those refugees (migrants) out of Turkey - they’re already infected.

DEPUTY SWEDISH CBANK GOVERNOR FLODEN HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS - NEWS AGENCY TT
Economic and infrastructure, especially the medical aspect.
The real China numbers, will never know.
I’m only addressing the reported numbers.
We can’t get near that number, or we have other problems.
Looking for CDC to change either testing or reporting information in the next ten days to keep the picture what it needs to be.
IN before wall street asks you to marry them.
The Capesize Index has, alas! stopped trading, it was down 95%...
I am not sure I would have had the same reaction last week as I do today after having gone through it now deciding to self quarantine.
It’s going to get worse as fears grow.
I am still hacked off this morning at the sheer selfishness of someone who would do this kind of nonsense
Meanwhile, those getting caught breaking a quarantine and risking others continue to somehow think they were justified if the positive test results hadn’t quite got back to them yet:
Note also in this story how a student returning from Italy within the week is out and about on public transportation.
.
I was thinking that. Currently my DNA is held by the government. With the testing the commercial companies will have my DNA.
Anyway I think they have about 75% of population DNA already and the Government most likely sold my DNA already..
