Continuation of the thread.
If its there, its in Basra. Then Kuwait City.
And they have the bad strain.
Why do you think the data from China inflates the mortality rate? Reports from in side Wuhan assert that the death rate is much higher than what has been reported from there.
You are right to trust the S. Korea numbers most, but why do you think the US numbers will be better? And how are you allocating the unresolved cases? We cannot assume they will all survive and that will only bring that 0.7% rate up.
I also don’t grasp the idea that this only kills elderly/compromised people somehow makes it more acceptable.
As Chris Martenson has argued, there are three major issues that need to be addressed in a pandemic—the economy is one of the three.
That is a correct focus.
The second is the rate of spread of disease. The approach here is half-measures imho. Quarantines are the only proven method to contain the disease. (It looks like GA has figured it out—they are the only ones.)
The third is keeping the health care system functional. That has not been addressed at all.
_All_ should be addressed simultaneously, with no one getting a higher priority than the other two imho.

Coronavirus Epidemic Update 33: COVID-19 Medication Treatment Trials, Global Testing Remains Limited
Dr. Seheult illustrates how medications like remdesivir may work on a cellular level to stop viral replication. South Korea has now tested almost 200,000 people for COVID-19 as the rest of the world lags behind and may be experiencing the tip of the confirmed coronavirus cases iceberg.

Geez, a question on the market.
Did Pence just say he was leaving the task force in a week and a half? Why?
Then you very much
...or could be ovaltine
I think you misheard him. He said he's been leading it for a week and a half.
I think he said "leading" the task force...
Phew, thank goodness! I think Pence is doing an outstanding job
Whew. Good. I was trying to make dinner so didn’t catch it.
I did listen to Dr. F when he said if you’re young and health, sure, go on a cruise. SMH.
Never seen a press conference where all the participants are so subdued, almost in a whisper by Pence.
Not just elderly with pre-existing conditions - children with cancer, others with a compromised immune system.
Thank you.
No asprin it is!
So in my bout of wondering if I had Wuhan coughed all over me yesterday...
starting to feel a little better after megadosing this..as in three packets one hour apart
https://www.livonlabs.com/products/vitamin-c/
I hate the taste so much I couldnt bring myself to take it last night with no symptoms. BIG MISTAKE
So I will keep taking it for a few days to be safe. Have to jam it the back of my throat, hold my nose, and swallow. Not going to do one every hour unless I get really sick
So still highly recommending this product. At a minimum, if sick take some kind of Vitamin C
Since the WH is not discussing the issue of keeping the health care functional during this pandemic, I will just mention key things that must be done.
—Separate health care facilities (could be a gym, like in China or tents, like in Italy) in a secure setting away from all other health care activities. These need to be set up _now_ in every state to get ahead of this.
—Focusing on the safety of the medical staff, which means over-protecting them from the virus at all times.
—Getting the needed masks to the health care workers first (ban visitors to nursing homes until this is done). We don’t want them sick, and we don’t want them stuck in quarantine so they can’t help patients.
—Focus on training of medical staff on the specific features of this disease. This needs to happen everywhere in the country—big project, takes time, need to start now.
—Additional doctors, nurses and others must be trained and ready to assist. This would include retired medical professionals, medical school students, etc. Time to get ready to staff up, and do it now.
I am sure doctors and nurses could add to the list, but this must be a top priority, because if we don’t this right, the other pillars will fall with it.
Well it has arrived in Lower Bucks and Montgomery County Pa.I don’t have time to post links. One of the Doctor’s at CHOP in Philly has it also.We are here in Lower Bucks.
