You may well be correct—but the whole purpose of the CDC delay of the tests was to develop a superior test (for just the reasons you cited).

I believe the Italy and S. Korea tests were something like 98% accurate, and CDC wanted to improve on that number.

I have no idea whether the new test did improve on it or not.

The testing delays on his watch are what is hurting him most, then some of his messaging makes it worse.

I don’t.

I work with small children. I have a bunch of children of my own. I travel to see them. I become ill sometimes after traveling across the country. I’ve seen the flu go from child to child to child, hospitalizing one who was in ICU for a week. No one quarantined the school where this was occurring. Two more with pneumonia in the same class. Why didn’t somebody do something????? I mean, really. What’s the difference between flu and this made up virus?

In your expertise, what do you think the central government should have done to keep this made up virus out of the United States and from spreading during flu season? They can’t even test for flu accurately by the way. Why would they be able to test accurately for a made up virus all across this country within weeks of it appearing here?

There were several bizarre looking poses of people on stretchers back when this first started. Many were similar. At first I thought it might just be people in a panic reaching out for help.

But seemed to be more frozen when I saw videos.

Perhaps that is the Neuroinvasive part of this.

I think China knows exactly what it is doing.

Once the virus got out - accidentally or otherwise - they saw an opportunity. Never let a crisis go to waste, right?

They knew they were in store for an outbreak, and they knew the virus would eventually spread to the rest of the world.

But they could do something about it that few other countries could do - lock up all of their people and let them die until the virus ran its course.

They knew that the West would have to send an ambulance to every case and perform all heroic measures to save every infected person.

And they knew that, while they were extinguishing the virus by killing their people, the West would completely exhaust all of its resources and wear itself out trying to run down every case.

After that, who would be stronger? The West or China?

COSTA RICA

First case suspected by COVID-19 in Costa Rica

March 5, 2020 . The Ministry of Health studies the first suspected case by Covid-19. This is a 52-year-old Costa Rican woman, a neighbor of the Canton of Pococí, who was in Italy and Tunisia and who arrived in the country on February 29 with no symptoms that match the case definition, starting later with the symptomatology.

The case is classified as suspicious after the respiratory panel (FilmArray) was negative today, ruling out that the symptoms are due to another type of respiratory virus.

The Health authorities activated all the isolation and care protocols for the patient, who remains isolated in her house. At the same time, the respective samples were taken in order to send them to the Costa Rican Institute for Research and Teaching in Nutrition and Health (Incense) to carry out the test that discards or confirms the case.

I cannot respond because I completely reject your premise.

But you are entitled to your opinion that it is a made up virus.

The fatality rate worldwide is 2% of those who have the disease.

That is not “all” of anyone’s people.

This virus is a royal pain, but it is not enough of a killer to make a dent in anyone’s population.

Greta is still going to have to figure out a better way to kill the rest of us. ;-)

Really interesting analysis.

They know US citizens will not tolerate the things we see go on in Commie China.

Even if an accidental bioweapon release..they know it is going to really cause problems here.

I go back to the article I read about the Iran Chinese energy deal. Iranians were upset because they feared their culture would disappear . China wants to take over the world.

This virus is going to do a lot of crippling and rippling damage.

Starting to wonder if the collapses are people who had S-COV, may not have known. Recovered and got infected by L-COV.

Watch the crippling effect this has it ripples.

Because China, Singapore and South Korea were able too.

There are two places so far (and only two countries) that have effectively stopped the growth the disease after it had made it on their shores.

They are Singapore and Hong Kong.

Both have warm temperatures (which some argues makes a difference), have tight control over travel (incoming and outgoing), and took the virus _very_ seriously from day one.

Could their success be duplicated elsewhere? Hard to say.

But—no western government is even _asking_ the question, much less attempting to answer it.
