30 or 50 years ago Turkey was a good fit in NATO. No longer.
Now, it is the gateway between East and West.
Russia is disputing that position. Was very foolish of Erd to align with an adversary.

If you invade another nation, and you are attacked—NATO has no obligation to support you. Picking a fight with Russia is an unwise move. In the past Turkey and Russia have fought 10 wars, Russia won 9 of them.
