Country music legend Garth Brooks posted a picture of himself in a "Sanders" jersey after his packed show Saturday night in Detroit, which created a bit of misguided outrage and confusion online.
Brooks wore the No. 20 jersey of former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders a football legend in the city and NFL Hall of Famer which caused some of his Instagram followers to mistakenly attack him for being a Bernie Sanders supporter.

Dear Garth:
If Sanders wins, and decides to confiscate all of your money at gunpoint using Federal ninjaboys, will you still be wearing his picture on your tee-shirt??
But hey, “that can never happen here”, I know... /s
I'm sure it was just a minor wardrobe malfunction. His closet was dark when he reached in to grab something to throw on for the show. Lo and behold! He came up with a 25 year old jersey. Amazing.
Detroit show, wearing the Jersey of one of the most prominent, if not the most prominent, Detroit football players in history, and a half dozen morons on Instagram get triggered because they are morons who apparently never made the connection. That’s news these days?
I had a friend in the Army around the time Brooks burst on to the scene. Brooks’ come out-of-nowhere meteoric rise convinced my friend that Brooks had sold his soul to the devil. Literally.
If he books Richard Marx as his opening act....THEN we’ll know something is up!
I think Garth and Barry both went to Oklahoma St. Garth is a fraud. Barry Sanders was the real deal.
Not to mention, Barry Sanders, a really good dude.
Devout Christian. Always tithed to his church from his
NFL contracts.
He single-handedly ruined country music.
Search Outlaw Country Music on a music app for station and you will be pleasantly surprised at some of the lesser known artists. There is some great authentic country music there.
Good, authentic music only comes from people who have lived the things they sing about.
Their soul comes through the song.
Nothing says: “I cannot do basic arithmetic” like having a Bernie bumper sticker. Or wearing a Bernie shirt.
He. Was. Playing. In. Detroit.
Tom Petty must’ve been talking about Garth when he made his comment about modern country.
Never knew much about his personal life, but for my money he was the most exciting draw the NFL ever had. He could run for 180 yards one week, but the very next week he could be held to negative yardage. It was always unpredictable and every time he got the ball you never really knew if he was going to break an amazing pinball run all the way down the field. I don’t think players these days would be given that level of freedom to risk lost yardage anymore.
Scum....he probably likes small mammals.
Sure, I get that. But still, just reaching into that dark closet and JUST HAPPENING to pull out an ancient Barry Sanders shirt? Amazing. Doesn’t everybody keep one in their closet?
OK, so he sent his guy to the “Jerseys R Us” store and bought a new one.
Or worse, Karl Marx.
... no cattle...
Don’t know what he meant by wearing it, but his wife’s on Food Network, a liberal LGBTQXYZ cesspool, so maybe they party with the Dims.
