Air Canada has confirmed that a passenger aboard one of its flights from Montreal to Vancouver on Valentine's Day has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
The airline said health authorities confirmed the case on Feb. 22, more than a week after the flight. Air Canada says it's working with public health authorities and has taken "all recommended measures."

I wonder where I can get 180 day supplies of blood pressure and cholesterol meds.
I am a thirty second bomb! I am a thirty second bomb! 28! 27! 26!...Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
'Til what? - the world ending or something?
I’m hoping I lose enough weight that I don’t need ‘em...
Many Chinese have moved to Vancouver, BC. The odds of the virus showing up there were pretty good before this.
I figured a board of Christian folks wouldn’t be so terrified of passing on and rather live in a post apocalyptic nightmare of a world.
Go figure.
I don’t want to be around for that kind of nightmare.
Praying is time better spent, IMHO
Amen!
If it goes longer than 4 months then we're all screwed anyways.
It seems these airline companies will eventually succeed in infecting every region on earth.
Vancouver is full of Chinese.
I was on two round trip domestic flights over the past two weeks where I sat next to a sick person on one, and another behind me on the next. Both were sniffing and coughing. Now I feel like crap.
I didnt worry about this before, but now its constantly on my mind. I fly nearly every week. I feel like I have a Coronavirus target on my back.
At least it wasn’t me. No flying in a decade. I have no reason to.
I’m down with some kind of bug. Just chills, coughs, feeling weak. Nothing major.
I have a bunch of flights in March, including a personal vacation scheduled for Europe late in the months. We’ll see how things go...
What was the passenger’s nationality? Where has he traveled in the last 30 days?
Lets pray for a vaccine because no way this gets contained.
Dang. News I didn’t want. My diabetic daughter has an appointment at CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) in Ottawa on Tuesday—two hours from here. If you have to be within a couple hours of a big city, I think you could do a heck of a lot worse than Ottawa. We are west, which is probably the direction to be, although if you really know how to survive in Canada, North would be even better.
A big-city hospital is pretty well the last place I’d want to go right about now if I had a choice.
Better now than a week later. I bet you are right on the 4-7 days.
And my guess is that what you are talking about is massive panic.
My Berkey is in (good for 6000 gallons). I’ve laid in a decent supply of black elderberry. (anyone else trying that?).
By eventually I take it you mean “within the next 6 weeks, and probably sooner”
If you can stand alcohol you can try the Hot Toddy strategy of the Wales guy who survived Wuhan Flu
even the most optimistic person should be prepared for a transportation shutdown...at least a couple weeks supply of nonperishables and toilet paper
