Figured we would start numbering the threads.
Some points to keep in mind:
1. This thing is not just the flu. 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we dont buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but dont bore us with your you are panicking posts. They are tedious.
Its Sunday night and the Walking Dead is back. Lets talk Coronavirus.

I went to Winco today and filled a cart with canned goods, dried potatoes, juices, etc.
I made it a point to look at the contents of every cart in the vicinity of me. Not one person appeared to be buying anything but items for the week.
Then I watched the nightly news to see what the news was like. They barely touched on CV.
Americans still sleeping.
China has gone dark, they have not reported any numbers. They are four hours late on reporting.
Thanks, Vermont, for these threads.
A link well worth reading for what’s really going on in China.
Major NYT columnist (their token conservative, in fact, Rod Dreher), whose wife is a PhD grad of an elite Chinese University, and who still has relatives over there:

This explains why they are importing American chicken.
It’s not the avian flu, it’s the d@mn locusts!
Sounds like our walmart run yesterday.
I bought (on sale) winter coats and tennis shoes. In our price range, both are either MIC or made else with MIC stuff. The winter coats would normally start being made right now to get on a boat this summer & be put out in the stores in Septemberish. They’re not being made right now so...Didn’t want to be caught flat footed on that one so got them yesterday.
“This thread (and others) has great info. It also has complete speculation and drivel like 10%”
Of course the fatality rate can’t include the sick, only the dead or the recovered. And if you go to the BNO site right now, you’ll see 217 as “Recovered” and 27 dead, outside of China. So the 10% fatality rate seems about right...albeit with a small number of cases, so far.
https://bnonews.com/index.php/2020/02/the-latest-coronavirus-cases/
And keep in mind that most of the recovered are still receiving decent or better medical care. What if that doesn’t continue (which it won’t, simply due to our drug supply now being cut off from China)? My guess is that 10% will wind up being on the low end.
Do you think a civil war is about to start there?
China has not reported any numbers today. They deployed 20000 police officers to Wuhan. I am seeing civil breakdown videos in Wuhan on twitter. Not sure what to make of it.
Terrible
Prayers up.
I wouldn’t waste my time on China.
South Korea is going to tell the tale.
Obviously, China has the virus completely under control. The past few days, their numbers have fallen to a relative trickle. It's only spreading now outside of China. /s
Close to my wild guess of 25 %. Or 1/4 infected by the pale horse. And that’s even with quarantine and separation once the problem is recognized.

Yesterday, 58 labs in Korea completed 9424 COVID-19 real time PCR for 6432 patients.
(Cumulative: almost 40000)
Hospital labs and commercial lab centers only. The tests performed by 18 public health lab are not included.
Very interesting story of seeking test in US!

Yes, Ive changed my news hunting to focus on S. Korea, Iran, Italy, Japan and Singapore, because I think those are the best bellwethers for us.
Seems to me Japan isn’t testing that much out of fears of the impact on the Tokyo Olympic Games.
