No doubt there will be lots of misogyny for “one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history” to fight and lessons for Walker along the way.

There's an old Nick Nolte flick called Extreme Prejudice. Nolte and Rip Torn play Texas Rangers. Torn's character says I have no problem with a woman Ranger, as long as she's 6'2", 220 lbs, and mean as a snake.

Hollywood created a conservative character to make fun of conservatives. He was called Archie Bunker. He was the only one with a job. He owned the house. The other characters where liberals. So, who ended up being the star? Who did everyone depend on? I think Archie backfired on Hollywood. It’s likely this one will too. Either that or he will seem contrived and unreal. Will he prance around demanding some Christian baker make his cake or dress up as a woman? If so, conservatives, half the audience, will tune out.

We didn't have a TV until I was 10. We sat on the floor and listened to The Lone Ranger, Sky King etc...

The first TV program I saw at our house was Lassie.

Yes, I'm very, very old.

I think Archie backfired on Hollywood.

That is true. According to Norman Lear, creator of the show, Mike and Gloria were supposed to be the 'stars', and Archie's character was supposed to be their 'foil'. It annoyed him and the writer's to no end, the whole time the show was on that they could not get audiences to like Mike and Gloria, or to see their viewpoints as anything but laughable. They eventually had to write them out...................

I think Archie backfired on Hollywood. It’s likely this one will too.

I still remember watching Carson back in the 70's during All In the Family's heyday when two of the guests were Walter Matthau and Meathead. Meathead was going on about how All In the Family was popular because it dealt with serious social issues and exposed bigotry. Matthau interrupted him and said "That's not why your show is so popular. Your show is popular because everybody agrees with Archie Bunker."

Meathead lost it and went into vociferous denial that such a thing could be true.

It’s not possible for a gay man to have a strong moral compass, even with the network moving mountains to make him seem normal and lovable.

I have a cousin that is in the same situation as your brother. He gets hate and ostracism from the gay community for being an outspoken conservative and Trump supporter. He’s a great guy, and who he is attracted to will never change my opinion of him as a hard-working, intelligent, honest, and trustworthy person.

I find this concept very low in possibility. How many men in the US are gay? About 3.9%. How many people live in Texas? about 12.5% of the US. How many gay men are in law enforcement? I can’t find a statistic on that. How many gay people are black belts in martial arts? Seems like it would be low. So put it all together and we have a very unlikely scenario a gay, texan, law officer that kicks criminal ass. Why don’t they remake the Streets of San Francisco?

When I hear “Walker, Texas Ranger Rebooted” I think “he went back to the western shop and bought himself some new boots”.

We had a Philco Console Radio. It was big thing. My favorite radio show was Fibber Magee and Molly and its "spinoff" The Great Gildersleeve.

Of course the was Jack Benny and Fred Allen. They were great too.

Great Memories all

Sorry (not sorry) but you can’t be a phag and “have a strong moral compass”. The two conditions are antithetical to one another.

I stopped watching all the CW shows because of all the nasty Sodomites slurping on each other. I can tolerate lesbianism, unless they hype it up. But no way I am watching queer men slurp on each other knowing where their tongues have been. Ewwww! Gross!
