The man is either retarded or mentally ill either way offering him booze is an epic fail.

He struck me as a possible Asperger’s person.

The plane should not sell a seat that can not recline. Personally, the seating space needs to be larger.

She invades his limited personal space with her seat, and she is the aggrieved party?

Kinda like backing into a parked car, then suing the owner for parking in their assigned space

I really wish the person sitting in front of him was a US Navy SEAL

The airlines should remove the reclining option if the seats are so crammed together that the reclining passengers are in the laps of the people behind them. Maybe they start rethinking this. But stupidity rules these days. You go girl.

I feel bad for anyone that flies commercially. It’s not much better than riding a bus through the sky, IMHO. I’d rather drive and take my chances on the road.

Shove a magazine in the little thingy supporting the tray and they cannot recline the seat. Problem solved.

First class is no longer a luxury to me. It is the ransom I pay not to be subjected to the hell that flying coach has become.

In my experience, seats don’t recline nearly enough to really call it _reclining._ They go back maybe a few inches. You body weight hardly shifts enough to even change its center of gravity. The relief to your back is fleeting. A comic joked about it back in the 80’s. “This is upright. Now watch: this is reclining...!” His head goes back slightly and I swear real seats don’t go back much further!

Well agreed but the quote makes her sound like a nut. Honey I think you’ve overvalued your cause of action by a few zeros

When I see a video like that I wonder what went on before the video. AA flight attendant kind of gives me the idea the woman was out of line too.

Men in particular are really penalized for their size in coach seating - I'm no linebacker but my shoulders are wider than a coach seat and I will be rubbing shoulders with the person next to me. I'm 5'10, which means there's zero possibility for me to cross my legs or curl them up in a seat the way a woman does. If the person in front of me chooses to recline their seat all the way back, I can't even put the tray table down and lean my head on it in misery. I've never gone ape like this guy - the person in front of me has a right to push their shiny recline button - but I can understand why he was pushed past the brink.

The fault is entirely that of the airlines - they make coach seating too small to be bearable, especially for men. They also provide recline buttons so that suffering passengers in coach can be made to suffer a bit more by the person in front of them. If women were imposed upon the way airlines impose upon men, we'd never hear the end of it.

It's a slightly more than two hour flight on one of those commuter sized American Eagle planes. I think they hold about 66 passengers and it is like being in a bus.

I was subjected to torture on one of those flights a while back - last row like the gentleman mentioned but on the other side of the plane with the rest room behind us. Every time someone closed the rest room door we felt a large jolt in those seats.

On the return flight, front row (no first class - remember little plane) and after a four hour delay (mechanical problem with plane and had to get a replacement from Lord knows where) the flight itself was uneventful but I will never fly AA again.

If a person is 6-foot or taller, there is not enough room. My vote is with the fella getting his kneecaps crushed.

Those non-reclining seats should be priced much cheaper and let the market decide if the body fits or has the tolerance for pain.

I found myself in this EXACT rear bulkhead seat situation on a Canadair regional mini jet once.

I (and others)consider me mostly sane, and a seasoned and relaxed traveller. But I eventually lost it to the mental torture of the physical discomfort.

That last row seat does not have the normal non-reclined seat back angle of the rest of the seats to start with - you are sitting bolt upright. Add to that the heat radiating from the mechanicals behind the bulkhead, and the fact that the cabin AC doesn’t much affect the rear parts of the cabin.

When that next-to-last row seat gets reclined, the person (me)in the last row seat can put your thumb on your forehead and fan out your fingers and your pinky will be touching the seat back of the inconsiderate recliner traveler - there is a seat back literally in your face.

In my experience, i dealt with for a while, trying to take my mind somewhere else. I eventually lashed out, verbally and a punch or 3 to the seat back. Definitely not a normal thing for me. And I wasn’t drinking.

Bottom line, be considerate of others with your desire to recline your seat. And NEVER find yourself confined to the torture of that rear bulkhead seat, especially on regional jets which are small to start with for bigger guys. That last seat is unsat for all but kid-sized folk.

As nutty as certain kinds of voters get these days, the young man is lucky he didn’t end up with a Diet Pepsi Shampoo and a Budweiser Creme Rinse. This would make a funny script for a TV show. What if that were Michelle Obama in the front seat?
Now THAT would be hilarious and scary all at once.

It totally sucks when you have your tray table down with a drink on it. Then the inconsiderate passenger in front just bangs the seat back to recline. You either have to catch the drink or wear it in your lap.

Simple consideration of those around ones self and common decency solve this whole problem.

I believe that having a seat reclined into you is a thing to be borne, since the functionality is there and there is no written rule or restriction on its use.

When it happens to me, I grumble sometimes, but simply put my seat back if it is possible.

Knowing this man was all the way in the back, I felt a degree of sympathy, but any sympathy evaporated when I actually watched the video.

I thank God I wasn’t in the seat in front of him, because I might well have slugged him. I could see someone losing their temper and them hitting the back of the seat, but what he did made my blood pressure go up. There was something I immediately disliked about that person.

He had “Leftist” written all over him.
