This chart, from Gallup as reported by Bloomberg, shows as clearly as anything what a mountain the Democrats have to climb to win the presidency in November. The Democrats are selling pessimism, but the American people aren’t buying it. And young people, minorities and the less well-educated especially aren’t buying it:
Non-whites 83%..that has to scare the democrats...the MSN and Democrats have been saying the economy sucks...guess it is not working

Not to rain on Trump’s parade, but as the shortages and supply disruptions start making it here from China, I’m sure much of the optimism will fade.
The only thing that worries is the MSM has the public believing that Trum has divided this country when actually the MSM has done all of the damage dividing the country!!! I heard a woman in NH state that she had voted for Trump last time LOVES the job he has done but thinks HE has divided the country!!! The MSM has become SO unAmerican is is shameful !!!! These IDIOTS have been preaching leftist policies for decades NOW Bernie is leading the pack and their heads are exploding GO FIGURE!!!

I see it a little differently. Trump will, as he has done in the past, make a negative into a positive. He will entice all of that production to return here. The new construction and jobs will boost an already stellar economy. Yes, there will be some difficulty if the virus hits the United States, but I will wager the necessary production will ramp up in weeks rather than years.

I agree this will work in Trump’s favor - after all, who’s been screaming about the Chinese dominating us? But my only point was replying to the article, as to whether Americans will remain upbeat.
The optimism will not fade, knowing the slowdown is temporary.
Sort of like the insane prognostications about Y2K all over again.......
Now if this becomes a pandemic a hundred times worse than SARS (which is highly unlikely), then we're all screwed, but unless Trump actually did something to cause it, it's likely he still gets re-elected. Then we'll recover anyway.
Be optimistic, take a deep breath and hold that red dot as still as you can.
I do think that Trump comes out ahead, since the Democrats are basically the GLOBALIST PARTY now. (and to think, 20 years ago, or less, the roles were reversed)
As to SARS, we’re at least 10 times worse now (SARS never shutdown China’s manufacturing sector)...so 100 times is definitely in the cards.

The Chinese government would certainly prefer Mini-Mike or Sleepy Joe to win the 2020 election. Whether they will take active steps to try to defeat Trump, and whether such actions would have a serious impact, is hard to say.
