7 day ban for discussing sodomy on Facebook
Facebook Community of Standards ^

Posted on 02/15/2020 1:23:28 PM PST by Sam Gamgee

I will admit I like to go to Christian Post and some news sites via Facebook and I connect to friends and family there. I have to question their claim in Community of Standards.

"The goal of our Community Standards has always been to create a place for expression and give people a voice. This has not and will not change. Building community and bringing the world closer together depends on people’s ability to share diverse views, experiences, ideas and information. "

What a joke. Every time I discuss sodomy I end up suspended. I know the obvious response is to not discuss sodomy. But it that really what Facebook has gone to? First time I used the term tranny and got a 3 day ban. This time I said sodomites are notorious child molesters. Within a minute I got a 7 day ban. Can you not discuss sodomy on a Christian group?

The other thing is facebook encourages narcs. How petty and thin skinned do you have to be to go running to facebook to fight your battles for you? Makes me now get angry at my kids when they narc on each other.

They have a whole section that do not tolerate death threats and will sometimes call the police. THAT I know to be a bald face lie. A former muslim runs a group on facebook and he forwards his death threats to Facebook and they laughingly tell him they don't violate standards.

Zucker is such a lying sack of shite.

We should not allow any agency that carries large amounts of public speech traffic to censor it under any color of law. The act needs to be illegal, whether they are a "publisher" or a "carrier."

If they are putting forth only their opinions and not carrying public traffic, then sure, they can be a "publisher". But if they are carrying public traffic, they cannot be allowed to censor legal speech. Allowing this situation to continue may well destroy the nation, because virtually everything carry public speech nowadays belongs to "private" parties.

Oh, no doubt they aren’t enforcing it fairly. For example, I’m sure that gays that use the derogatory term “breeders” when talking about straight people don’t get banned. These things are only ever enforced one way.

And they do need to do something about those radical Muslim threats. Agreed. Crazy that that they do nothing.

I don’t want Facebook investigated. I want them decapitated. Facebook is evil—don’t need an investigation to figure _that_.

This.

This is really a replay of the railroad monopolies in the 1800s.

They were de facto common carriers—and it took a long time (and a lot of very angry regular folks) before the politicians stopped taking the bribes and starting fixing the problem.

Allowing private companies to censor speech will simply make them back door conduits for governments to censor speech. China already forces Google to do what China wants.

I signed up again at fb with a fake account and have been calling zuckerberg out for his lies. I am guessing they can follow my IP and figure out who I am and van me permanently?

I guess that is another battle for another day. Would love to see Google and Facebook lose their business license for cooperating with our enemies

Not everyone that is on those Christian facebook sites is a Christian. There are many “fake plants” to get folks banned. Just like sodomites infiltrated the Catholic church to bring it down.

“This platform is a major carrier of public speech. I wish people would understand how serious of a threat to freedom this stuff is.”

Exactly. I left FB because I began to realize how EV_RY_THING is being funneled into people being required to have a FB account in order to access everyday events, like a school event or hobby club. Why do I have to have a FB account in order to know something was scheduled/cancelled at school or hobby club?

FB has gotten WAY, WAY, WAY too powerful.

I hate censorship of any kind and got some funny looks at bible study when I said I opposed banning porn sites.

I heard about that a decade ago in Canada. That there fakes on Free Dominion trying to incite libellous words to start lawsuits. Yes I call out the trolls when I can. I ask them if they hate religion why are they on a Christian site.

That will reach similar quantities of audience?

Sorry, but I don't see anything in the Constitution about the right to be heard by everyone.

Yes, but facebook currently enjoys legal protection from content based lawsuits because they claim they do not exercise editorial control...

Section 230 of the CDA explicitly allows FB, and other interactive computer services, to moderate content yet still have protection from lawsuits.

That was the point of the law.

We may not like it but there it is.

I got an instantanious three day ban when I posted a photo of the smoking carcass of Qassim Suleimani.

FB said it was too sexual a content. SAY WHAT?

I also got a notice, several days ago, that a photo of a dead Pancho Villa was too violent and would be covered. I posted it way back in 2017, and only last month decided to cover it?

I would assume Facebook would allow you to discuss the joy and wonders of sodomy. But, legitimate criticism of it or the homosexual lifestyle is absolutely off-limits.

Some homosexual activist was running a Facebook page mocking the Virgin Mary a few years back. I wrote some equally offensive things about homosexuals and, of course, I got suspended. Facebook proved my point of that a double standard exists.

Still, Twitter is even worse as far as censorship goes.

Use “arsenekoit”.
It might take them more than a minute to ban you...
