Would Brady going to Da' Raiders cause level 10 heartache in New England? I remember there used to be a lot of bad blood between the Pats and Raiders. From what I heard, 2 years@ $30 a year is what the Pats are going to offer although supposedly the 2nd year would be voidable for cap purposes.

Brady just finished a below average year. Is he worth it?

I’m surprised the Redskins haven’t made an offer. This is the kind of bonehead deal their management specializes in.

$40 mil/yr would kill any team’s salary cap unless they went cheap on every other player on the team.

(checks Raiders roster)

I guess LV could make this work.

Not buying the rumor. Dump a 28 year old Carr (4000 yds 21 TD 8 Int) for a 43 year old with a decayed arm and no legs?

If the Raiders were to move on, would be better to draft a QB with their pick at 12 and keep Carr for a year or two.

Meh.

The Packer’s survived the loss of Favre and his ridiculous antics with two other teams (We’ll Never Forget You, ‘Brent’!) and we got on with our lives and went on to win another Superbowl.

It can be done! :)

30-40 million a year to run with a ball down a field. Ok.

That would be such a pathetic mistake. So Raiders.

At this point, the Raiders are such mediocre team (7-9) and Gruden is such a mediocre coach, that it’s hard to imagine any reason why Brady would want to play for them other than $$$ and location. The Raiders are not a Super Bowl-caliber organization and he’s not going to singlehandedly change that. This isn’t analogous to Joe Montana and Marcus Allen going to the Chiefs in 1993 and ending up in the AFC championship. The Chiefs had been a 10-6 in 1992, with a good coach with Marty Schottenheimer and a top-flight defense led by Derrick Thomas. The Raiders right now are the epitome of a mediocre organization, from top to bottom.

Why would another $30 mil be tempting to one who has multiple millions and who is guaranteed $30 mill already?

What can you do with $60 mil that you cannot do with $30 mil?

Buy another dozen houses? A bigger yacht?

Don’t think Brady will be tempted by the money.

What he will want in the future is 1. An offensive line that can protect him; 2. Top receivers that can catch for him. 3. A strong defense.

Without those, he is doomed to failure and the money will mean nothing.

Brady and Drew B., Rivers? Who else is basically done? At least Eli did it the right way. Why drag it out?

We already know that the Brady championships are over regardless of where he is. He's past his prime...way past.I'm surprised he doesn't retire, make millions each year doing a couple of days of filming commercials each year and enjoy life.

Imagine the money he could make working for Fox...CBS...the NFL Network.
