“Not sure about this.”
Me too. Even discounting the big-government/Bloomberg aspect, it can’t work alone. It will take outlawing ALL carbohydrates (which include sugar) to make a dent in obesity, and the Left simply won’t permit it - so not going to happen, and this is just symbolic.

There ARE obese vegetarians.
Obesity comes from:
1. Eat too much.
2. Hardly moving except to go to the bathroom and kitchen. We were meant to WORK and MOVE.

One time Jay Leno had some heavyset black guy on as guest. Guy was lamenting his struggles to lose weight. Leno said, “But you’re a vegetarian.” Dude responded, “Ain’t no meat in doughnuts, Jay.”

I read the article. It's full of flowery feel-good measures until you get to this...
The regulations followed a 2014 measure that raised the tax on sugary beverages to 18 percent from 13 percent.
So in the end it's just more social engineering through taxation. And evidently the NYTimes is good with it also.

At least these aren’t bans, but mandatory warning labels. The consumer still gets to make the choice.
The article did mention that the affect on obesity is unknown, so I think that means it’s having no effect.

Obesity can also come from consuming the incorrect food types, regardless of 1 or 2.

Obesity caused by Government ,has everyone in a PANIC

How can this be? I thought only American women, particularly black women, were obese, while everyone else in the world is slim and muscular with disproportionally large breasts.
If you can’t believe what you read on FR, is there any Truth at all left?

I thought Chileans consisted solely on a diet of red wine and sea bass.
That’s what Food Network has been telling me anyhow.
