“”No, that was Robert Wagner.””

And she was married to him - he was not her boyfriend. There was scuttlebutt that Christopher Walkin onboard that night and she were having an affair. I think it turned out she was drunk when she fell overboard...

"no one ever seemed to actually get killed or even wounded no mater what happened!"

You can't have a successful series outside of Game of Thrones where the actors get killed. But an interesting fact is that the F4 Corsair was a terror to the Japanese. It had an 11 to 1 kill ratio. That means if you were a Japanese pilot and saw an F4 coming after you, there's a 90% chance you were toast.

I remember that re-do. Wagner had the guts to warn them but they ignored him.

When it failed he said “I told you so”.

It wasn’t until further down that I realized he was referring to Conrad’s Energizer battery commercials.

I think Mary Lou and the Bunny pushed his commercials out of my mind. And the toy monkey...

Me and Jimmy and Bruce sitting on the floor at Jimmy’s house watching The Wild Wild West.

That Derringer that slid out on his forearm.

The explosives in his heel.

Loved it.

Rest In Peace.

"How were telegraphs powered during Grant's Administration?"

The truth can now be revealed...

I saw retro TV WWW and it was great. Conrad was a hunk! I unfortunately saw the re-do and it was pathetic.

It was one heck of a fighter but I think the Hellcat was just as successful.

Radio’s Matt Dillon (Gunsmoke) has passed away! Anyone remember hearing him on radio?

Robert Conrad had a small radio show that accepted callers so I called him up one time a few years ago. He was mad at Wikipedia for allegedly getting his age wrong. At the time he was "celebrating" a divorce being final and flirted with an 18-year girl that called in.

I told him my Mom wouldn't let me watch Wild Wild West but I saw a few back then. He said "Those Women Against Violence! They got my show canceled when it was on top!" Later I asked Mom if she was in the "Women Against Violence" and she said "No but had I known about them, I would have been!"

Yes I know but I’m not talking about the main cast. As I remember the show it at times seemed to go to ridiculous extremes to make it none violent & casualty free. You introduce “red shirts” like Star Trek:TOS did to provide the bodies. Even interactions when they occurred with the Japanese were oddly cordial.

I am very much aware of the Corsair’s capability. I must have built a half dozen Corsairs as a kid, read al I could on them

You are correct. All I saw was the Conrad name and went with it.

Sad loss but there are right of center younger actors around.

Vince Vaughn got rocked on twitter for talking with Melania and Donald in a private booth at a championship game.

He’ll survive. I don’t think he cares all that much what twitter had to say.

Strong 2nd Amendment supporter.

One Monday morning my 7th grade English teacher came in all smiles. Someone asked if she had a nice weekend. She shared that she had met Robert Conrad at a restaurant - he was in town filming Murph the Surf - and had spent hours “talking”. She went on and on about how nice he was.

It wasn’t until years later that I realized she probably slept with him.

If I remember correctly, Jim West was a special agent for the government. Over the many, many years, that show had a theme music that I have always been able to conjure up at will: da duh, da duh, da duh duh da dun da da da duh, Da Da Duh Duh duh da da da da ............
