I was always surprised that he married his second wife when she was only 17 (he was 46 at the time). He met her at a teen beauty pageant where he was a host and she was a competitor.
My error Wagner/Wood not Conrad
Flame away
I always saw it as James Bond as a cowboy...and always entertaining.
“which takes us back to this weeks thread mentioning Natalie Wood...”
Do you mean Robert Wagner?
Conrad was at a beach in the 70s and saw a swimmer being attacked by a shark. He swam out and pulled him to safety, regardless of his own plight.
You are a better man than I am, Gunga Din!
He also did a great movie in which he portrayed G. Gordon Liddy. Wonderful job!
No flames from me. Like I said, I don’t know this Hollywood stuff.
No, that was Robert Wagner.
Yup got my Roberts mixed up corrected earlier
Unfortunately famous folks always seem to die in 3’s..RIP Robert Conrad :( another icon gone
On Freerepublic for years, and you Freepers continually impress me with your knowledge and research. So much information on Robert Conrad? Thanks, guys!
Really? Been a while. How were telegraphs powered during Grant's Administration?
Wild Wild West and that WWII series, I forget the name, in which they were Corsair pilots. Those were great at the time.

I suspect that someone finally took him up on his dare (especially considering the crap he was pushing compared to today’s Lithium batteries).
Just saw an ad for “Black Sheep Squadron” on H&I tv today.
H&I ran it a couple of years ago too.
I enjoyed that WWII series on Pappy Boyington even though it was highly highly fictionalized. Also something I noticed (and it irritated me to some extent!) no one ever seemed to actually get killed or even wounded no mater what happened! Nor even peripheral characters, I guess the studio didn’t have a red shirts to hand out!
I’m with you - I have ZERO SYMPATHY in life, or in death, regarding anyone who has the money to NOT endanger others...in this case, by simply having a driver (legal or otherwise, but sober) to take him around.
>>>He also did a great movie in which he portrayed G. Gordon Liddy. Wonderful job!
I think that movie was titled Will
They have had batteries since around 700 B.C. I think their use is still a mystery, maybe used by magicians.
Until the last re-do starring Will Smith. Totally destroyed it; nothing but a pandering movie. Next one will have a black Asian LGBT woman/man starring.
