CHICAGO - A Chicago husband and wife who late last month became the first person-to-person coronavirus patients in the United States have been released from a suburban hospital, health officials said Friday.
In a statement, Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates said that they were “discharged to their home under the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health.” The hospital said the two, both in their 60s, are now in “home isolation.” The hospital did not say when the two were discharged from the hospital.
The couple, who have not been identified, said in a statement released by the hospital that they are pleased with the care they have received.
“This has been the best healthcare experience we’ve ever had, but we’re definitely looking forward to getting home and getting life back to normal.”

years ago a Doctor told us it was like bleeding inside out...or something like that. I was too traumatized to really remember..but it was horrifying.
So perhaps that is they are treating. I saw a diagram of what this virus does and it involved sepsis.

I am skeptical of that guy...but keep in mind he is caucasian . So it is possible that he would recover in a different way than asians.

That's standard for most viruses, but anti-viral meds can help. I don't think anti-virals worked for SARS or MERS, so they might not work for this coronavirus either.
Wow, hadn’t saw that, but he’s just feeling better, still recovering at home, still in isolation. He went into the Hospital on Jan 20th and this was from Feb 4th and he’s still not completely resolved. It is good news however. The problem is that if we get overwhelmed we wont have the great care he got. I wish I could get the damn thing now and get really could care and recover and be done with it.
The 61 cruise ship passengers are mostly japanese but a really good number of American, Australians and Canadians.
They can’t all be Asian.

This analogy has nothing to do with this virus but shows how it could go:
If Thalessemia had a certain trait that was susceptible to this virus..those with the disorder would not have the same ethnicity but could have a commonality...such as turks, Greeks, Asians, etc.
So, I might not be Asian, but could be more susceptible because I have that blood disorder.
I think they are still debating whether some types of thalessemia evolved to combat malaria...and thus I, perhaps, would be more immune to malaria than another caucasian.
Anyway, there could be some genetic code common between ethnicities. This is why I look to see how is getting this and who is recovering..and we still don’t know much except from Hot toddy man.
And yes the worker in Germany could very well be Turkish...which I Hadn’t thought of..despite going to Germany in High School and seeing all the Turks
The ‘ethnic’ chart I saw of the SNP’s (single nucleotide polymorphisms) in the ACE2 was like 92% of Han have them but 60%+ of Europeans also have them.
It’s not like we ‘win’ in that scenario.
It’s not like they have a single gene that makes them susceptible and we don’t have that one.
This doesn’t work like that.
I suspect the european people that have contracted this will live. Mostly because their medical systems haven’t crashed with overload. Yet.

which means they’ve recovered to the point that they no longer need to be in the hospital ... or do you think they were sent home to die in isolation?
Their healthcare benefits were exhausted.
That is for sure. I imagine it’s just a matter of monitoring for a couple weeks before giving the ‘all clear’ and letting them back into the wild. If there is ever a time for an abundance of caution, this is it.
