This analogy has nothing to do with this virus but shows how it could go:
If Thalessemia had a certain trait that was susceptible to this virus..those with the disorder would not have the same ethnicity but could have a commonality...such as turks, Greeks, Asians, etc.
So, I might not be Asian, but could be more susceptible because I have that blood disorder.
I think they are still debating whether some types of thalessemia evolved to combat malaria...and thus I, perhaps, would be more immune to malaria than another caucasian.
Anyway, there could be some genetic code common between ethnicities. This is why I look to see how is getting this and who is recovering..and we still don’t know much except from Hot toddy man.
And yes the worker in Germany could very well be Turkish...which I Hadn’t thought of..despite going to Germany in High School and seeing all the Turks
The ‘ethnic’ chart I saw of the SNP’s (single nucleotide polymorphisms) in the ACE2 was like 92% of Han have them but 60%+ of Europeans also have them.
It’s not like we ‘win’ in that scenario.
It’s not like they have a single gene that makes them susceptible and we don’t have that one.
This doesn’t work like that.
I suspect the european people that have contracted this will live. Mostly because their medical systems haven’t crashed with overload. Yet.
