CHICAGO - A Chicago husband and wife who late last month became the first person-to-person coronavirus patients in the United States have been released from a suburban hospital, health officials said Friday.
In a statement, Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates said that they were “discharged to their home under the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health.” The hospital said the two, both in their 60s, are now in “home isolation.” The hospital did not say when the two were discharged from the hospital.
The couple, who have not been identified, said in a statement released by the hospital that they are pleased with the care they have received.
“This has been the best healthcare experience we’ve ever had, but we’re definitely looking forward to getting home and getting life back to normal.”

If this is as bad as all the Chinese videos seem to show, the American healthcare system will collapse very quickly. The infection will spread rapidly because a weak and fractured government like ours will not have the power to stop people from spreading it and it will be everywhere.
What has our government done in the past several years other than argue about Russiagate, shampeachment and the like? I can even see the Democrats being gleeful about it and letting it spread, because that gives them something else to blame on Trump.

So far, but still none officially listed as "recovered". I wonder what the strategy/course of treatment has been for these and other infected Americans. Anti-viral meds, or just treat the symptoms?
CDC's stated goal a few days ago was to just "slow the spread". I guess as long as the health care system isn't overwhelmed, they think it will be manageable.
Read the story carefully, they are not necessarily better, it’s that the hospital could not do anything further for them.

ok maybe I am missing something? They were released home under care of the CDC and they are to stay in isolation...so are they recovered or what?

I think they were released to home care per CDC guidelines.
It appears we still don’t know their ethnicity.
We know for sure Wuhan Hot Toddy man was caucasian. I have never even seen where the German worker was identified as non asian. Just because he is a German worker doesn’t mean he is caucasian
