These confronting images show the cats and dogs which have reportedly been thrown from tower blocks in China...One dog was found dead after allegedly being thrown from a tower block in the Heyuan Guohe Garden area of Tianjin City in China’s Hebei Province. Local media report the pooch was thrown from the upper floors of a tower block at 4am and that it smashed the sunroof of a car before ending up on the ground...Reports state the sound of the dog hitting the car woke neighbours up as it sounded like a tyre explosion...Reports also state five cats were thrown to their deaths in the city of Shanghai, with locals believing they were pets as they had smooth and clean fur.

Yep. Some pain now versus what is going on in China later.
Saw recent video of thousands of boxes of supplies (medical?) sitting outside the post office in Wuhan. The Japanese blogger might have been referring to these as he said private people in China outside the infected regions are mailing supplies to them. But - no organized way to distribute all of the supplies.
Another video showed what looked to be a toll booth - or maybe a border crossing? I bet it was 15 lanes wide or more - packed with cars as far in front and to the rear as could see.:

Awake. aware and terrified, hanging upside down, their throats are slashed.
They would hang for about five minutes then the throat was cut. They bleed out better. Then we would open up a hole at top of belly and fill with water to help start the cool down.

Yes, that was with drill sergeants. ;) Most American parents were also very attentive to some matters of hygiene and cleanliness during the 1960s as compared to many adults now. Many parents back then weren’t much into good exercise or dental practices for adults, though.

The up side is that the number recovered is only 7 less than the number that died. 259 vs 252. The ratio is improving.

Yet a Hong Kong university professor said there were 50,000 infected (and that was a few days ago). He would have had good sources, and could be expected to be more honest than the CCP.
And a US Labor Dept. official let slip under his breath that there were “thousands” dying in China.
That would comport more with the drastic measures China is taking to control the virus.

Due to the heavy demand and the scarcity of the masks - many Chinese are washing their masks - which reduces or destroys their effectiveness - but what are they to do?
I saw a picture of someone wearing one of those big plastic 5 gallon water bottles. He had cut out the bottom and put it over his head. That actually probably works better, and no, I'm not kidding.

(Wuhan had a population of 11 million. But even the mayor said 5 million fled before the quarantine.)
That may be because there are not enough cases outside of China. The death rate is about 1 in 50, and there has not been close to 50 cases yet. The more cases outside of China, the more likely there is to be a death.
Every time I see that there is another case outside of China, especially in people who have not been to China, I am more concerned. There is a real danger of this becoming a pandemic. Once it reaches pandemic stage, don’t count on a robust healthcare system to save patients. It will totally overwhelm the healthcare system; we’ll have sick wards set up in warehouses and gyms, like they did during the 1917-1919 influenza pandemic.
The thing I'm not sure about is when to start wearing a mask.
Asian gals at Costco can get away with it - I'm not sure about a grey-haired white guy. (Pride goes before the fall.)
That is not how they are killed commercially. They are hung upside down, shocked unconscious, and the heads removed with a high speed saw. I’ve only seen the cone method on videos. My stepdad would use a hatchet to rapidly decapitate them.
