WASHINGTON — Democrats stepped up their calls on Sunday night for John Bolton to testify at President Donald Trump's impeachment trial after an explosive new report alleged that in his unpublished book, the former national security adviser said Trump personally tied Ukraine aid to an investigation of the Bidens — an account that conflicts with the president's.
"John Bolton has the evidence," tweeted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
According to the manuscript, as reported by The New York Times Sunday night, Trump told Bolton that nearly $400 million in aid to Ukraine would not be released until that nation offered assistance with probes into Democratic targets, including former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
NBC has not verified the report, which cited multiple sources familiar with Bolton’s account, or seen a copy of that manuscript.
The contents of that manuscript were described as a rough account of how the former Trump official would testify should he be called as a witness in the Senate trial, which is currently underway. The prospect of any new witnesses has been viewed as unlikely, given most Republicans reluctance to accept additional testimony.
Hill Democrats on Sunday said the new report highlighted the urgency of a Senate request for Bolton's testimony — a move which would require several GOP votes.

Bolton hasn’t betrayed him yet, and I’m not convinced he will.
Let’s wait and see how this plays out. Bolton may not like Trump, and may be a bit of a war monger, but I think he is a patriot, and he hates Democrats.
If he testifies the Democrats might get blindsided.

As for Bolton:
Big bucks book deal with high stakes to see if he sells a lot at the start for better product placement in stores and feature on Amazon. Example: Ex-Trump person George Papadopolos book did well for first week only then dropped out of sales lists top tier quickly. Several examples like that each year. Not anti-Trump.
Seething hatred and anger swelling up in Bolton with no outlet except revenge against Trump.
Reputation of being self-centered loose cannon.
Chance to the be the center of attention and make history as the one who brought down Trump.
No way to prove he isn’t lying about what he says.

What would really be funny is if Bolton is called as a witness and he rips apart the liberal talking points. Then Trump’s team gets their turn with Biden and friends.

So you think not needlessly antagonizing members of your own party, whose support you need to advance your agenda, or who may have information that might damage (or end) your presidency, is the same as making nice with the Taliban. Brilliant.

And, contrary to what you apparently have concluded, I am a 100% supporter of President Trump and have been since the day he announced his candidacy. That said you are still in denial regarding the basic fact that, thus far, no Bolton spokesman has DENIED the substantive allegation of the story, as you implied by this statement:

However, my correct observation, which provoked your ire, was that the substantive allegation in the NYT story has not been denied by any spokesman for John Bolton, as you incorrectly inferred when you made this statement:
