How to protect yourself (from coronavirus):
"There are currently no vaccines available to protect you against human coronavirus infection.
You may be able to reduce your risk of infection by doing the following:
(#1) .. wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
(#2) ..avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
(#3) .. avoid close contact with people who are sick "
Also:
(#4)..stay home while you are sick - don't spread the illness
(#5) ..avoid close contact with others
(#6).. cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
(#7).. clean and disinfect objects and surfaces, especially plateware, silverware, TV remotes, cellphones commonly use by many people.

No kidding.
My understanding, as of yesterday, the notification is that it is already mutating
as per the Chinese official coordinating study of the virus.
The problem with viri is that they mutate easily,
in that they have RNA, and lack DNA.
So, in their development, there is less genetic changing necessary in order to mutate.
Therein lies the problem with virus , they change and mutate rapidly,
thereby frustrating pharmacology .
Time for people to learn about Thieves Oil...
True that !
It sucks to be them (!), ..and not be close shaven.
Well, any protection beats having no protection.
In Medieval times, they wore masks of rags soaked in Vinegar to ward off the Black Plague.
You do what you can; but, bottom line, you are quite right about a tight facial fit.
Scotch!
I’d add elderberry to that list. It’s available in many forms, including syrups, gummies, even wine. Home-made or store-bought, both are effective.
Elderberries contain a compound that interferes with a virus’ ability to enter new cells. This prevents it from replicating, and makes it easier for the immune system to respond. It can be taken daily as a preventative, or several times a day after symptoms start to show.
My daughter just returned to Australia where she is a school teacher,
She brought with her 15 N-95 masks because they are in such short supply there
due to smoke and the burning fires in close proximity to metropolitan areas.
My youngest son is a fireman, and he shaves his face daily, and his haircut is a "0",
since he needs the full facial fit on his respirator.
So yeah, a tight fit for an N-95 face mask is necessary.
Since the N-95 found in hardware stores is made of fiber,
it can be soaked in water to adjust the fit.
which may hamper the filtering ability. In addition they are only good for so long and have to be changed. By all means use them if you wish. My point is the average person will not use them appropriately and have proper fit and are wasting their time and money.... Those of us that have to use them hate them and cant wait to get them off. They are not easy to work in if appropriately fitted.
A regular surgical mask will stop mot exposure unless you are really up close and personal.
Washing your hands helps a tremendous amount too. Forget about “antibacterial soap” it does not work on a virus. Just wash thoroughly. I saw a health worker once tell children to sing “Happy Birthday” while they wash their hands because it takes that long to thoroughly wash the hands.
I am unfamiliar with "Thieves Oil"
Can you enlighten us, or provide information, or a hot-link ? ?
Is it an anti-viral homeopathic medication ?
Elderberry pie is one of my summertime favorites.
Do you make an elixir of berries, or of the leaves ?
Does baking affect the medicinal properties ?
Around here, harvest is in mid-late August, and you have to fight the birds off !

Alcohol based hand sanitizers discussed at the link.
A good idea to carry them in the car and use them.
Heres a link to the basic story...

There are many companies that blend it.
In addition to dealing with outbreaks of viruses, Ive learned its the fastest way to treat a fingernail cuticle infection. Kills the infection. Old skin dries up and falls off.
Dont use it in other places without diluting.
Im sure you can find more by Googling...
Best.
I heard that too !
My understanding is that it should take about 20 seconds to raise a good soap lather
in order to flush away any surface contaminants and bacteria.
You were wise to listen .. and follow that advice !
Personally, I use a recipe that calls for berries, leaves, and small stems. But using just the berries works fine. I usually don’t have enough berries for a full batch, which is why I use the rest of the plant.
It’s important to cook elderberry preparations. Baking won’t lower the medicinal properties, it will actually improve them. There’s another compound in the raw elderberry plant that is mildly toxic, but the toxin isn’t heat-stable. Cooking renders it harmless, while not affecting the medicinal compound.
eat raw garlic, take vitamin C and zinc at the minimum
We had a saying in the hospital, wash in, wash out. Damn your hands got leathery.
At her age, the team gets itchy when she sniffles.
Much appreciative
Honestly, I had never heard of it before.
Thank you for the information about "Thieves Oil".
