You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Over the next few days I will list the names of Todays CG puzzle solvers admitted to THE HALL OF FAME
The selection is based on the consistency of effort, fun, creative, sometimes goofy and lively commentary, and their general enthusiasm.
In addition their choice reflects their skill and temerity of purpose in the solving of these daily CGs and their support for this posting.
On February 26th, (The first day of Lent), I will name three Hall of Famers, and give a $25 donation to Free Republic in their behalf.
Congratulations to Today's Cryptogram Hall of Famers: Buffyt; grey_whiskers; gundog; Mr. Fuji;
Buffyt; grey_whiskers; gundog; Mr. Fuji; have been here from the start and are great CG puzzle solvers... Congrats!
A special apology to yesterdays Hall of Farmer 1_Rain_Drop; whos been here from the beginning. I feel like a big dope for saying she asked for hints at first. 1_Rain_Drop; never asked for a hint, and in fact frequently offers some witty clues for us as shes usually among the first to knock these off. Thank you for what you do to make this fun for the rest of us!
Solution to our last puzzle:
THE GREATEST ACT OF FAITH SOME DAYS IS TO SIMPLY GET UP AND FACE ANOTHER DAY. AMY GATLIFF
Easy peasy, made the right choices for the two letter words, and everything fell into place.
Now, why do the last two words remind me of our government?
Just made a sequence of correct guesses until completion, starting with the first two words.
1 minute. First two words, then follow the yellow brick road.
Got 1st 2 words, quick and easy after that.
Two minutes! The first two words did it.
It took me a while, but slow and steady wins the race
What a fable!

Terry Jones - RIP
Yes. #MeToo
They are among the most passionate. The first two words lead you to the fabled path.
Mebbe five minutes, but I go and come back. Things start appearing that way, rathe than just bashing.
Use the Hal tool as well, figure that is fair as I start these without morning coffee.
Somewhere between 1 and 2 minutes. I guessed the author incorrectly the first time, then went back and got the first two words and then the rest fell into place.
Thank you!
I always look forward to working the CG when I’m at home in the evening.
