Why did Pelosi delay sending the articles of impeachment? She wanted Trump to come to her on his hand and knees begging that he be spared the embarrassment of impeachment. Because it is IMPEACHMENT FOR LIFE! Nothing can withstand the stigma of impeachment thought Nancy and her Nancy boy Schiff (who'll probably get a STAR on Hollywood's Walk of Shame). The wrath of Pelosi is too cruel for words for she is a woman scorned by Trump. Excommunication of Trump was her only option and she took it gleefully with many "solemn and sorrowful" fist bumps. The dirge without a casket shows how she has dispensed with her enemy. Yes, now the world knows the true story -- don't tango with Nancy or she will tangle you up like a fly in the nest of a black widow spider.
I thought there was some practical strategy that she was using. But NO! It's just personal, heartfelt vengeance. Any thoughts about the delay?

The single word that best characterizes this impeachment is “vandalism”.
They have no hope of removing President Trump from office.
Their mindset is no different from someone who sees a nice car in a parking lot, a car that they, for reasons of bad luck or bad choices, have no hope of ever owning, and “keys” it or slashes the tires out of spite.
She thought Romney and company would put pressure to get additional witnesses, in order to drag in more mud, and they seem to have caved.

Bucket list: Be the only president to be impeached, and then re-elected.
Some possibilities:
Help Biden/Bloomberg campaign in Iowa caucuses (feb 3) and New Hampshire (feb 11) by making the senators all attend the trial.
Make Trump give the state of the union (feb 4) while his trial is going on in the senate.

She was waiting for today for Antifa to mount a successful frame up of Team Red in Virginia and for that to give cover to Romney et al. to criticize and capitalize on Trump’s reaction, which will of course be spun so badly by the media that it will spin out of the planet’s orbit.

The people who are arguing that Pelosi's purpose in moving ahead with impeachment was to help the Democrats capture the Senate in the 2020 election may be right. At this point I can't see any of the Democrat candidates beating Trump, but having both Houses of Congress under 'Rat control in the second term would be a major obstacle. Pelosi may be thinking in particular that RBG is unlikely to survive until 2025 and wants to make it very difficult for Trump to get someone good confirmed as her replacement.
Pelosi hasn't been a rational thinker since last January when she disinvited President Trump to give the State of the Union address during the Pelosi/Schumer government shutdown, and Trump retaliated by canceling the airplane for her family vacation European junket.
I think Pelosi was hoping to delay delivering the Article of Impeachment in order to time it with this year's SOTU address in late January as payback for last year, but she didn't count on McConnell and Graham holding firm and Democrats getting cold feet as the polls were turning against them.
