Media darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow “squad” members have never been shy about their plan to shove the Democratic Party toward adopting socialist principles. And now that we’re more than a year and a half into the AOC era, it’s clear that their two-part plan is working.
The first component of their plan is to reshape the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) into a powerful political force in Congress. Historically, the caucus, which began in the 1990s, has been primarily a club for left-wing congressional Democrats. But it had little political power because of its members’ unwillingness to vote as a bloc.
AOC, Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and other radical Democrats have been working to reform the CPC so that the socialist left has the ability to control - or, at the very least, heavily influence - the agenda for the entire party.

And that’s just the beginning. The AOC-backed group Justice Democrats is working with numerous other candidates across the country to unseat even more moderate Democratic members of Congress.

I think that President Trump would like to have the Republican party support him, but he won't let their resistance stop him; it's just another obstacle for him to overcome.
On the other hand, as you point out, Ocasio-Cortez doesn't want the Democrat party support; she wants to oust the "old guard" and remake the party into a socialist party.
Along those lines, I wonder if President Trump hopes that the Republican leadership will see the light and come to his side. Ocasio-Cortez doesn't want the Democrat leadership to join her; she sees them as the problem and wants them gone.

Amazing how socialism has breeched our firewalls. It is insidious.
Our constitution isn’t explicitly anti-socialist — the founders did not foresee the coming threat — but with its emphasis on limited and decentralized power it certainly is a huge obstacle to socialism if applied with fidelity to the original intent.
Socialism is our nation’s greatest threat. We’ve weathered other storms and disagreements up to and including the causes of our civil war but socialism is bigger and more dangerous than these by far.
Socialism tests our commitment to our founding idea.

What moderates? Who could watch more than two years of show trials and witch hunts, and the Stalinesque misuse of national intel services and law enforcement by the Kenyan, and think there are any Demwit moderates?
Moderate Democrat = Marxist
Demonic Nutjob Communists. They passed “Communist” years ago. The Socialists took effective control with William Jennings Bryan deposing the Conservative Bourbons of President Grover Cleveland in 1896. Bryan, despite being an economic socialist was a strident Christian. He’d have long since repudiated the Dems when they kicked God and Christians to the curb decades ago.
Now we can say the DNC rat party in name only is a cover for the communist socialist workers party
