Senator Bernie Sanders likes his hotel rooms cold and does not like slow flushing toilets, according to a leaked tour rider from his 2020 presidential campaign.
Referred to as the 'Senator Comfort Memo,' the document offers specific arrangements that need to be met for Sanders' hotels, food, drink, family and staff.
Marked 'confidential: for campaign staff use only, not for circulation,' the two-page memo is dated April 10, 2019 and was first reported by the Smoking Gun Wednesday.

Sanders requests that rooms have a down comforter or at least one extra blanket and also asks that they come stocked with bathtubs if possible.
Desiring to exist in nippy conditions, the memo states that SBS needs a fan in the room if the room's thermostat does not go below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
'Always test, set, and run thermostat before arrival,' the memo states in all caps.
Bernie request that that his accommodations provide the following each day: green tea with honey (saving any excess honey packets), English breakfast tea, a low sugar drink, one small bottle of red Gatorade, one bottle of Smart water, clementines and a small can of unsalted cashews/walnuts/almonds.

My lib niece up in New England has a low flow toilet with the “1 or 2” option button. Press 1 for pee and you need to flush twice. Poop and press 2 and you need to flush 2+ times.
She also keeps the house at 80 in summer and 60 in winter. They eat organic and no meat. Both boneheads (niece and her husband) are sick with something at least once a month.
My wife and I went to visit and they took us to a restaurant that only serves toast with your choice of toppings. Like bean sprouts, honey, quinoa, kale etc.
After we dropped them off we went and got a steak, potato and martinis. We’ll never visit again.

From the bare bones quality of the requests, Bernie’s not living large. It would not surprise me if his team leaked the memo in order to stress his fairly spartan lifestyle.
When you go spouting this crap and then medical issues that the list accommodates are revealed then you look like an idiot.

An example I can address is the temperature issue.
I have hypothalamus damage. I have to keep the temperature cool and I'm not even old or on medications and I know there is a long list of medications that hamper the body's ability to dissipate heat.
And a bunch of other crap on the list could be medically related just like the temperature.
You go spewing crap like this article and then whatever Bernie's on comes out and it makes you look like the unthinking intolerant idiot which you absolutely have to be to run with this stuff.
The man is a Goddamned communist and there are people who actually think attacking Bernie over this crap instead of his totalitarian economic rantings makes them look informed and well thought?

When I was in Kazakhstan for an extended stay back in the 80’s, you only received water into the toilet bowl when you flushed! Needless to say, underarm spray or cologne was prized!

There is no evidence that Sanders has hypothalamus damage. If so then his medical reports released to the press (needed as one runs for President) have never mentioned them.
I am diabetic, and can get very exothermic fairly quickly. I “get” cold rooms.
This is all about the hypocrisy of a rock star politician, acting like one of the “common men” while living it up on Other Peoples Money.
I hate those slow flushing toilets too.
My last toilet install was an American Standard 1.6 gallon elongated bowl comfort height. It is the one that flushes a small bucket of golf balls at the trade shows. It is amazing for a non commercial product.
Bernie must use a high volume, high flush toilet, because he is so full of it.
Otherwise, he demands a large bowl full of only red M&Ms, personalized with the pictures of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Che Guevara and Mao.

Hell will freeze before I vote for any demonrat. That said, when you’re on the campaign trail as much as these candidates, you have every right to ask for your own comfort items.

I remember that the media went after Palin for many days because she wanted a bottle of water with a bendy straw while giving a speech.
I worked at the Carrier Dome at SU in events production in ‘84 & ‘85.
There were always detailed lists that had to be in the dressing rooms for the entertainers. Most were pretty common with name brand soda’s, specific water, certain snakes, candy and specific name brand liquor. Especially if one of those brands were sponsoring the tour.
There was only one I still specifically remember. The Grateful Dead. Jerry Garcia had one dressing room(locker room). The rest of the band had the other. In Jerry’s room we were required to provide a folding table, and a lamp.
